36-year old singer and actress Mandy Moore is a mom to a bouncing baby boy. The ‘This is Us’ actress and husband, Taylor Goldsmith, welcomed August Harrison Goldsmith into the world this week. Moore made the birth announcement on Instagram on Tuesday.
“Gus is here ????.” Moore gushed in the comments. “Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined.

Moore has been candid about her fertility struggles and somewhat difficult pregnancy.
In an interview with Romper in January, Moore revealed she and her husband had been trying for a child for some time. A visit to a fertility specialist led to the discovery of an issue with her uterus and the possibility of endometriosis.
As Moore prepared for a surgery that would lead to a better chance of conceiving, the couple found themselves pregnant!
Unfortunately, the troubles didn’t end there. Moore’s first trimester was nightmarish. Speaking with SiriusXM radio’s The Jess Cagle Show, she said that she felt very lucky to be expecting, but admitted that in the beginning she felt “super sick”. Because of the pandemic, Moore was fortunate to be at home and therefore didn’t miss any work.
“I don’t know how women do it,” Moore marveled. “I literally woke up and was sick all day long. I couldn’t eat, I lost a bunch of weight. I just stayed in bed all day. I’m lucky that that kind of trailed off and I feel much better now but I know that’s not the case for everybody, that it sometimes can persevere for the entire pregnancy.”
Further pregnancy complications arose with the ‘Candy’ singer revealing on Instagram earlier this month, “My platelets have dropped exponentially during pregnancy and it’s sadly altered my birth “plan.”
It seems though, that everything went well with the new birth plan and the parents seem to be smitten with their bundle of joy.
