‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that we will probably be seeing the infamous Ashland Locke in Genoa City shortly. Ashland is the husband of Tara, with whom Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) had an affair and possibly a child.
We also heard Ashland’s name brought up as the owner of a media company that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is interested in pursuing only for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to jump in front and go after it himself so he can use it to turn around on Chancellor Communications for their piece on Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Locke is referred to as the Lochness Monster in his business relations and sounds like an intimidating person. If they were to have a guest star portray him, what if Y&R went outside the soap world and brought in someone else to play him for a few episodes, who would fit? This got me thinking and I came up with a few ideas that could be fun. Note, these are obviously not rumored or anything, this is simply a fan casting, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
Olyphant has played the smoldering hero in shows like ‘Deadwood’ and ‘Justified’ but has also had appearances in comedies like ‘The League’ and ‘The Office’. When I keep hearing the name Ashland Locke, I immediately pictured Olyphant. I don’t know why. He’s done smaller appearances and cameos, so why not Y&R?
“I am aware of the effect I have on women.” Another star who guest-starred in ‘The Office’, Elba can off the business tycoon who buries people and would destroy Kyle for sleeping with his wife. Of course, if Elba is her husband, why would she sleep with Kyle? Stop poking holes in my fancast.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Fun Casting Ideas For Who Would Be The Perfect Ashland Locke
The voice of intimidation. If Locke is portrayed as an older gentleman, Elliot is the man for the job. He and Eric Braeden together discussing business would be a great scene in itself, not to mention he’s also done spots on shows like ‘Parks and Recreation’.
No, this isn’t Timothy Olyphant. While they’re similar, I could also see Duhamel in the role of Ashland. He would make a great guest star credit for the series and he’s no stranger to television either.
