‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that they have been trying to get rid of Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) for a while but he doesn’t seem to want to budge. Everything from paying him off to trying to scare him out of town has done nothing and even now, after a stern warning from Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), he’s still showing doubt.
This has some fans thinking that there must be a bigger purpose for him, and with talk of Eric Braeden stepping away from the role of Victor Newman in the next few years, we have to wonder if they’re trying to build up Robert for that kind of a role.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Will Robert Newman (Ashland Locke) Be The Replacement For Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) When He Retires?
Robert Newman has been around the soap opera business before with ‘Guiding Light’ and has continued to be good on this show after he replaced Ricard Burgi. So, could they be playing him up to take over that kind of a power role? Some fans think so. Some viewers wrote, “We might be on the verge of seeing Ashland becoming the new Victor Newman with Victoria as his Nikki!! No wonder this guy is always one step ahead of his enemies and he battling the Abbott!! Remember Victor was older than Nikki Newman when they married that why the writers had Victoria fall in love with him plus Robert Newman is a good veteran soap actor making him the perfect replacement for Victor Newman!!!“, and “I have a feeling that Young and the Restless is looking for the future without Eric Braeden as Victor Newman and is setting up a replacement!! Did you watch the show today and the scene where Nikki was looking at the picture of Victoria on the wall that made me think that Victor will soon retire from Newman Enterprise and replace with Ashland also Victor biggest rival is John Abbott son Jack Abbott now tell me who is Ashland biggest rival Kyle Abbott Jack’s son“.
What do you think? Will Ashland take the money and leave or is he going to stay in Genoa City after all? Let us know in the comments below.
