The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has dropped some hints about another shocking murder in Nice, France.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis Told Nick She Would Kill Anyone Who Tried To Frame Him
The soap kicked off its murder mystery extravaganza with Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) meeting a tragic twist of fate.
Someone is trying to frame Nick for Damain’s demise. We don’t believe for a second that the person responsible for putting the bloody dagger in Nick’s sleeping cabin is Cane.
In the July 17th episode, Phyllis admitted to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), “I would kill anyone who tried to frame you for murder.”
It was a daring statement for Phyllis to make, especially when Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) was within earshot and is investigating the murder case.
From the previews for next week’s Y&R, it looks like Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) loyal assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), is going to do just that. He’s the most likely suspect to set Nick up.

In the preview, Carter goes to Nick’s train car and announces that he’s putting Nick on “house arrest.” Apparently, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) must go with Nick.
Additionally, Nick suspects that Cane is biding his time when it comes to alerting the French authorities. He thinks Cane is stalling until he can destroy evidence. Nick fully believes Cane killed Damian.
Now that Phyllis, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and Cane have decided the best way to clear Cane and Nick’s names is to find the real killer.
Next week, Cane will review all the security footage in his office. Amanda will walk in and assume Cane is deleting evidence. Interestingly, Cane thinks it’s Amanda who deleted the footage.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Phyllis May Figure Out Carter Is The Killer
We’ve already figured out it was Carter. He’s likely the one trying to frame Nick. With Nick and Sharon being held prisoner by Carter, and Cane and Amanda squabbling over the security footage, it’s up to Phyllis to uncover the truth about Damain’s murder.
We think, as crafty and clever as Phyllis is, she’ll be the one to free Nick and Sharon. Phyllis could corner Carter to find out exactly why he took Nick and Sharon to the house.
While it’s feasible that Carter is only trying to cast suspicion off Cane, we believe there is a much more sinister plot in play than that.
We think Carter took Damian out to eliminate Cane’s romantic rival for Lily Winter’s (Christel Khalil) affections.

He also probably thinks that since Nick is a hothead, it’ll be easy to frame him for murder. Sharon, who is Nick’s ride or die, would move heaven and earth to clear his name.
The police may even be on their way by the time Carter puts Nick on house arrest. Carter will work overtime to set Nick up for the crime he committed.
We can imagine Phyllis confronting Carter, and since he’s probably the killer, he’ll become irate and possibly attack Phyllis.
Phyllis may find herself in grave danger, and could have to murder in self-defense, and it wouldn’t be the first time.
Regardless, knowing Phyllis, she’ll follow her instincts, which will no doubt lead her straight to creepy Carter.
