‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggest that Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) may lose his life saving Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Chance’s Exit Could Be Heroic And Fitting For A Cop
On Monday, June 23rd, the shocking casting announcement was made that Conner Floyd would join the cast of Days of Our Lives, ironically, to play Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn).
Billy Flynn was the last to play Chad, and his first airdate on Y&R was last week on June 19th. He’s also a recast, as the last actor to tackle the role of Cane Ashby was Daniel Goddard.
Rumors persist that Y&R will soon feature a murder mystery storyline, and since Conner Floyd is leaving the soap, fans speculate that he is the one who will be killed.
However, we have another theory. Chance was asked to come to Cane Asby’s (Billy Flynn) private estate in Nice, France, and was promptly informed by Cane that he invited him as a police detective, not as a Chancellor.

We suspect that since Chance is a cop, his exit will be heroic and memorable. Cane told Chance that he believed by the end of the week, someone would try to kill him.
It can’t be a coincidence that Cane specially requested Chance’s help with something of a life-threatening nature, and Conner Floyd is already filming over at Days.
If someone is gunning for Cane, Chance could get caught up in the crossfire and rescue the billionaire. After all, Chance has been trained to risk his life to protect others.
It’s hard to imagine someone with such a significant grudge against Cane, but there are a few possibilities. He could have crossed someone powerful regarding his business dealings, but that’s a tad extreme.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Then Again, Cane May Have Provoked Someone More Powerful Than Him
Cane’s alias, Aristotle Dumas, could have accumulated some enemies, though. You typically don’t get that far that fast without making someone angry or even dangerously envious. A formidable business rival wanting him dead is not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
It could also be one of his late gangster father Colin Atkinson’s (Tristian Rogers) former associates who may want to kill him for something Colin did to them.
It was interesting how the soap made it a point to mention Cane’s father and how, in the flashbacks between Cane and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), she was very much against him having a relationship with his father.

Lily told him she didn’t want to see him anymore because of Colin. She apparently even told their children, Charlie and Mattie, that Grandpa was bad news.
Lily knew Cane’s dad was untrustworthy, but maybe it was even worse than she thought. Cane asked Chance to help him get down to the bottom of this matter before the situation became deadly. Unfortunately, Chance may end up paying the price.
If Chance dies to save Cane, Chance’s loved ones could blame him for Chance’s demise. Cane may add to the already chilly reception he’s received from his own party guests.
We have to wonder exactly who wants Cane dead and why. Chance may have stepped into a situation he won’t come back from, and it could end up costing the good cop his life.
