If there’s one thing daytime soaps delivered this week, it was chaos. Between shocking betrayals, emotional spirals, revenge plots, and some truly terrible decisions, several characters across The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital and Days of Our Lives are heading into the back half of the week in very bad shape.
Here are the biggest soap losers so far this week.
Nick Newman Is Completely Spiraling on Y&R

Nick Newman may officially be the biggest disaster of the week on The Young and the Restless so far. What started as anger toward Matt Clark has now turned into something much darker. During Wednesday’s episode, Nick openly admitted he plans to kill Matt and make it look like self-defense. The fact that he already wants Detective Burrow nearby to support his story made the entire thing even more alarming.
This is not protective dad Nick anymore. This is a man unraveling in real time. Adam flat-out asked Nick if he’s using again after watching him swing between rage, paranoia, and emotional crashes. Sharon begged him to stop before he destroys himself. Even Victor and Adam are now discussing how to keep Nick away from Matt before this situation explodes completely.
The scary part is that Nick genuinely believes he’s thinking clearly. That usually means disaster is coming fast in Genoa City.
Steffy Forrester Never Saw This Betrayal Coming

Steffy started the week talking about how perfect things were at Forrester Creations. By Tuesday’s Bold and the Beautiful episode, she was sitting across from Ridge realizing her own father may hand Brooke her co-CEO position. The look on Steffy’s face said everything.
What makes the situation even worse is that viewers already know Hope is the one who pushed this entire idea into Brooke’s head. Hope convinced her mother to go after the position because she believes it’s the only way to protect Hope for the Future and stop answering to Steffy. So while Brooke is making the pitch, Hope is the one quietly pulling the strings behind the scenes.
Once Steffy figures that out, this family war is going to get even uglier. It already feels like she’s reaching the point where she could completely snap on both Brooke and Hope, especially after Ridge seriously entertained the idea of replacing her.
Paulina May Have Already Lost Abe

Nobody had a rougher emotional week on Days of Our Lives than Paulina. Lexie waking up in that hospital bed was shocking enough, but the real heartbreak came when Paulina stood in the doorway listening to Abe tell Lexie, “I love you, too.”
The problem for Paulina is that this is not just about Abe reconnecting emotionally with the wife he thought he lost forever. It’s also about the secret she’s been keeping. Paulina already knew Lexie was alive, and Abe still has no idea she stayed silent about something this massive.
That truth feels like a ticking time bomb. Abe has always valued honesty, and once he learns Paulina kept this from him, their marriage could completely implode. Right now, Paulina looks terrified — and honestly, she has every reason to be.
Nina Reeves May Be Walking Straight Into Disaster on General Hospital

Nina may quietly be having one of the worst weeks on General Hospital, even if she does not fully realize it yet. After the chaos involving Brennan’s accidental injection, Nina has slowly become the easiest person for everything to fall back on if this situation explodes publicly.
The dangerous part is that Nina stepped in believing she was helping Willow and protecting her daughter from even more fallout. Instead, she may have accidentally positioned herself as the perfect scapegoat if panic starts taking over. Willow is already under enormous pressure, Michael is tightening the screws around her, and Brennan clearly knows something is not adding up.
What makes this especially risky for Nina is that she physically administered the medication herself. If investigators start digging deeper or Willow feels cornered enough to protect herself, Nina could very easily end up taking the blame alone. And honestly, General Hospital has a long history of characters sacrificing the people closest to them once desperation kicks in.
Phyllis Summers Is Becoming Her Own Worst Enemy Again

Phyllis Summers is fighting with practically everyone in Genoa City on The Young and the Restless right now, and things are only getting messier. Her legal situation surrounding the Newman takeover already looked terrible earlier in the week, but things really started collapsing once Michael admitted the evidence against her appeared legitimate.
Instead of slowing down, Phyllis immediately started lashing out at everyone around her. She threatened Christine, accused Michael of sabotaging her case, got into another public confrontation, and then somehow ended up sitting at Crimson Lights connecting with Matt Clark of all people.
The bigger problem is that Phyllis does not seem to realize how isolated she’s becoming. Lily just declared war on her and vowed to “singlehandedly dismantle” her if Cane goes down because of this situation. Christine warned her she could end up broke and in prison. Even Lauren looks increasingly nervous every time Phyllis starts spiraling publicly. Meanwhile, Victor is enjoying every second of it.
Ridge Forrester Just Created a No-Win Situation

Ridge on B&B deserves a place on this list simply for putting himself directly in the middle of an impossible battle. On one side, Brooke is aggressively pushing him to make her co-CEO immediately. On the other side, Steffy feels blindsided and betrayed that her own father would even consider replacing her.
The problem is Brooke is not backing down at all. She’s fully convinced she deserves the position and pushed Ridge to tell Steffy immediately instead of thinking things through. Meanwhile, Steffy genuinely believed she and Ridge were thriving together as co-CEOs.
Now Ridge looks trapped between his wife and his daughter, and there’s really no version of this ending where everybody walks away happy. No matter what he chooses, someone is going to feel betrayed.
Diane Jenkins Walked Into the Worst Possible Moment

Diane on Y&R may not be having the loudest meltdown this week, but she is absolutely having one of the worst emotional weeks. First, Patty Williams is back in Genoa City acting increasingly unstable while openly fixating on Jack again. Then Billy warned Diane that Patty seems determined to remove her as an obstacle.
That alone would be stressful enough. But then Diane walked into the GCAC just in time to see Jack holding Nikki’s hand. Awkward does not even begin to cover it.
What makes the situation worse is that Diane already admitted she’s starting to question whether getting back together with Jack was a mistake. She’s angry, emotionally exhausted, and now Patty is circling around her marriage again at exactly the wrong time. At this point, Diane looks like someone simply waiting for the next disaster to hit — and in Genoa City, it usually does.
At this point, the second half of the week is looking even messier for these characters. Nick is spiraling, Steffy is headed toward a major showdown with Brooke and Hope, Paulina’s marriage may already be hanging by a thread, and Phyllis keeps making enemies faster than she can keep track of them.
And knowing soaps, things can always get worse before Friday!
