On the May 8th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke Logan finally stopped hinting around about wanting more influence at Forrester Creations and directly asked Ridge to make her co-CEO alongside him. After days of listening to Hope vent about Steffy’s treatment of Hope for the Future — and about Steffy’s growing control over the company in general — Brooke appeared ready to stop sitting quietly on the sidelines. And judging by Ridge’s reaction, he clearly understands how explosive this situation could become if Brooke seriously pushes the issue.
What makes this storyline so interesting is that it no longer feels like Hope simply complaining about her fashion line being sidelined. The conflict has grown into something much larger involving power, family loyalty, and years of resentment that may finally be bubbling to the surface. Brooke has spent years trying to keep peace within the Forrester family, but Friday’s episode made it feel like she may finally be questioning whether she has sacrificed too much of herself in the process.
Hope Finally Convinced Brooke to Fight for Herself

Hope spent much of Friday’s episode encouraging Brooke to stop minimizing herself and finally recognize her own value within the company. She reminded her mother that she helped build Forrester into one of the biggest names in fashion and questioned why she continues allowing Steffy to hold so much authority over both of them. According to Hope, Brooke has spent years putting Ridge and his family first while accepting less respect and power than she deserves.
At first, Brooke tried defending Ridge and insisted she didn’t want to damage his relationship with Steffy by creating conflict inside the company. But Hope immediately pointed out that Ridge and Steffy never seem equally concerned about Brooke’s relationship with Hope whenever business decisions are made. That argument clearly hit home because Brooke slowly stopped defending the situation and started admitting that she has not been fully happy with her role at Forrester for a while now.
By the end of their conversation, Brooke finally agreed that she needed to start advocating for herself instead of simply accepting the way things are. Hope practically celebrated the moment because it was obvious she had finally gotten through to her mother.
Brooke’s Conversation With Ridge Was Carefully Planned

Later in the episode, Brooke wasted no time acting on Hope’s advice. When Ridge arrived at the house, Brooke had already created the perfect atmosphere for a serious conversation. There was wine, romance, and plenty of reminders about their long history together. Brooke framed the discussion around everything they had accomplished as a couple and how much more they could still achieve together moving forward.

The conversation became especially important when Brooke started comparing them to Eric and Stephanie during the glory years of Forrester Creations. Brooke made it clear that she sees herself and Ridge as the natural successors to that legacy and believes they should be leading the company side by side as equal partners. This was not simply Brooke asking for a better title or more recognition. She was openly pitching the idea of becoming Ridge’s full partner in running the company.
That is exactly why Ridge immediately became uncomfortable the second he realized where the conversation was heading.
Ridge Knows Exactly What Brooke Is Asking Him to Do
The moment Brooke finally asked Ridge to make her co-CEO, his reaction made it obvious he understood the consequences immediately. Ridge bluntly asked if she expected him to fire Steffy, which perfectly captured how impossible this situation really is for him.

Brooke tried softening the request by insisting Steffy could still have another important position within the company, but realistically there is no version of this situation where Steffy would not see it as a betrayal. Steffy has fully embraced her role beside Ridge and clearly views herself as the future of Forrester Creations. Asking her to step aside for Brooke would create massive tension inside both the family and the business.
What makes Brooke’s behavior so surprising is that she continued pushing despite clearly understanding how painful this could become for Ridge. For years, Brooke has usually been the one trying to calm tensions and avoid direct battles with Steffy. But Friday’s episode felt very different. Brooke no longer seemed willing to quietly accept a lesser role while Steffy continues gaining more authority and influence inside the company.
Steffy Still Has No Idea What Brooke Is Planning
Ironically, while Brooke was privately asking Ridge to replace her, Steffy spent most of the episode acting completely secure in her position. At Forrester, Carter praised Ridge and Steffy as the company’s “dream team” while they discussed how successful their current strategy has been. Steffy defended her decision to pause Hope for the Future and continued insisting she was simply making smart business choices for the overall brand.
Steffy genuinely appears convinced that her position is untouchable. That is why Hope’s final interaction with her suddenly feels much more significant. When Steffy confidently reminded Hope that she was co-CEO and there was nothing anyone could do to change that, Hope quietly responded, “You might be wrong about that.”
At the time, it sounded like another bitter remark from Hope. But after Brooke’s conversation with Ridge, it suddenly feels much more like foreshadowing.
Hope for the Future Could Trigger a Full Family War
What makes this entire storyline fascinating is how quickly it escalated from a disagreement about Hope for the Future into a potential battle for control of Forrester Creations itself. Steffy originally believed she was simply redirecting company resources toward couture and protecting the business financially. Instead, her handling of the situation may have unintentionally pushed both Hope and Brooke toward open rebellion.
At the same time, another major complication is developing at Logan Designs. Katie secretly admitted to Donna that she is considering bringing Hope over to Logan because they desperately need a high-profile name following Eric’s departure. Donna looked horrified by the idea because she immediately realized how deeply Brooke would take that betrayal if it actually happened.
If Hope leaves Forrester while Brooke simultaneously starts pushing for Steffy’s co-CEO position, the divide between the Logans and Forresters could become worse than it has been in years. And in the middle of all of it stands Ridge, who may soon be forced to make an impossible choice between his daughter and the woman he loves.
