Soccer star Hope Solo has opened up on the huge regret she has had following her recent DWI arrest.
Soccer Star Hope Solo Regrets Her DWI Arrest-‘That Has Come As A Great Cost To Me’
According to reports, Hope was arrested on Thursday, 31st March 2022. During the course of that process, it is alleged that she had passed out while she was behind the wheel as her vehicle had been parked in a Walmart car park in North Carolina.
And given that her 2-year-old twins were claimed to be in the back seat, it was not a good look. Thereafter, Hope decided to go into rehab in order to tackle her alcoholism. In the process of doing so, she decided to postpone her induction into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
As a result, Hope owned up to her actions by pleading guilty and was given a 24-month suspended sentence. This was also accompanied by a $2,500 fine, as her period of rehab hit 30 days. And looking back, this whole ordeal was one of her biggest mistakes.
In an interview on the “Hope Solo Speaks” podcast, she said: “I let alcohol get the better of me in a decision that I will never live down, a decision that has come as a great cost to me and my family.”
But after having gone through such a tough period, she has now managed to come out the other side. And by having a solid support network around her, she has been able to navigate the issues that have come her way. Her husband, Jerramy Stevens, and their children have been a critical piece in doing that.
The fans on social media, though, were not so sympathetic. They could not understand how Hope had managed to get herself in such a bad situation anyway. One person wrote: “Falling asleep at a Walmart parking lot with two year old twins strapped on the backseat after driving while drunk.
