Will Smith is saying that he was NEVER asked to leave the Oscars after he slapped Chris Rock on stage. In fact, he’s claiming the opposite is true and was told by the producer that he could stay. This is completely backward from the news that we heard before.
The Academy said Wednesday that they had asked Will to leave the Dolby Theater after his outburst, yet, witnesses there say that the Academy officials were backstage with Will Smith’s representatives in very heated discussions about what had just happened.
Will Smith Claims He Was NEVER Asked To Leave The Oscars By The Academy
Now we’re hearing that it was split, with some officials wanting him gone, and some saying that he could stay. Apparently, there were many conversations happening but they never reached a consensus which resulted in Smith just staying there and later accepting his own Oscar award.
It definitely seems like there are conflicting reports and at this point, we have no idea really of knowing what did or didn’t happen. It does seem like there were many angry conversations about what happened, but everyone sat on their hands for the most part and nothing got done.
Hilariously, Will accepted his Oscar and preached about being a vessel of love just after slapping Chris Rock for a joke.
The Academy came out in a tweet, saying they were against all forms of violence, though that obviously doesn’t seem to be the case otherwise Will would have been escorted out of the building. Did he get special treatment because of his name? It honestly does seem like it. Many of us normies probably would have been arrested and thrown in jail, at least for a night.
What do you think? Should Will have been escorted off the premises and why do you think he was allowed to stay? Let us know in the comments below.
