The Oscars host Amy Schumer has been left traumatised, as a result of Will Smith’s slapping incident involving Chris Rock.

Amy, for her part, had to watch along with the rest of the world when Will uncharacteristically hit out at the comedian following a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss.
And given by the silence in the room initially, it is fair to say that Amy was just as shocked as the others. While she could be criticised for not intervening, the very fact of the matter is that anything could have happened.
In order to put behind that memory, she tried her best to laugh off the incident. In a post to her fans on social media, she said: “I think we can all agree that the best way to unpack what happened is to stream my series @lifeandbethhulu and see me on tour this fall.
“But for real. Still triggered and traumatized.” Nevertheless, Amy did not hold back on what she thought about the whole event. Her comments clearly indicated her support for Chris, who by all accounts, had acted impeccably.
Although some may argue that his joke did cross the line, there is no denying that his conduct was admirable especially since he could have lashed out in kind. And this was precisely the feeling that Amy had too.
She added: “I love my friend @chrisrock and believe he handled it like a pro. Stayed up there and gave an Oscar to his friend @questlove and the whole thing was so disturbing.”
The response from social media, however, was very brutal towards Amy. People were of the view that her comments were overboard. This was on the basis that she was exaggerating things for the sake of publicity.
One person wrote: “OH the Trauma I had to see someone get slapped, white women will find a way to be the victim…its a talent.” It is safe to say that Amy will remember this saga for some time. Sadly, though, it will be for all the wrong reasons. So there you have it folks.
