O.J. Simpson seems to see a little bit of himself in Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock. Simpson said that he too wanted to put his hands on people back when he was in the spotlight. He sounded off on the whole event and his main takeaway is now in his Twitter caption, “He was wrong but I understand the sentiment.”
Simpson explained in a video that Will made a mistake but he sympathizes with him. I think we’re all thinking the same thing… Will slapped someone… He didn’t… Well, you know what Norm MacDonald would say in this situation.
O.J. Simpson Seems To See A Bit Of Himself In Will Smith – This Can’t Be Good
He goes off about those “O.J. routines” and how everyone jumped on him and had jokes, saying he wanted to “b-slap” a few comedians himself. But acknowledges that he, *ahem*, restrained himself. Oh my lord, the irony. While he seems to defend Chris Rock, saying it was just comedy, no matter how it makes you feel, Will should have accepted it.
However, O.J. thinks that if he were to pull the same stunt, that he would have gotten life in prison without the possibility of parole, saying that Will gets a pass because well, he’s Will.
Let’s hope that Simpson doesn’t see too much of himself in Smith, otherwise, Jada Pinkett Smith may have a lot more to worry about than her medical issues. It is still always hilarious to me when O.J. chimes in on events like this… Will, do not end up like Simpson. That would be terrible.
As of now, Rock has not pressed charges and the Academy is convening to figure out their punishment for Will. Some speculate that he could lose his Oscar award over the situation.
What do you think? Could Will Smith have to forfeit his Oscar award and if he does would it go to someone else? Let us know in the comments below.
