Several charities have cut ties with Sarah Ferguson after leaked Jeffrey Epstein emails proved that she had emailed an “apology” to convicted sex offender and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Several Charities Expressed It Would Be Inappropriate For The Duchess To Continue As Patron
Some of these charities the Duchess of York had been a patron of for years. The Teenage Cancer Trust, which Ferguson has supported for thirty-five years, announced its decision to remove the Duchess as patron.
Ferguson described Epstein as a “supreme friend” after he was convicted for soliciting a child for prostitution.
Several charities expressed that it would be “inappropriate” to continue their relationship with Ferguson and were “disturbed” to read of her correspondence with Epstein.
Ferguson wrote,
“I know you feel hellaciously let down by me,”
and stressed that she never used the word pedophile when referring to him.
Prevent Breast Cancer and the British Heart Foundation, two of the UK’s most prominent charities, severed ties with the Duchess.
Ferguson became a patron of Prevent Breast Cancer after she was diagnosed with the disease in 2023 and was an outspoken advocate for the charity.
The Teenage Cancer Trust announced earlier today that Ferguson was no longer a patron of the charity, describing any continued role as “inappropriate” following the disclosure of the email correspondence.
However, for now, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, Ferguson’s daughters, remain the charity’s patrons.
The patronage is a massive loss for Ferguson, who first introduced her daughters to Teenage Cancer Trust on their 18th birthdays.
The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals has removed its praise of the Duchess from its home page. The charity displays a “wonderful ambassadors” home page. They eliminated her from the list.
The charity had also previously featured a photo of Ferguson with a dog. The picture was also removed from the site.
Prince Andrew And Sarah Ferguson Could Be Banned From Future Royal Family Events
The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation also dropped Ferguson as a patron. Julia’s House, a children’s hospice charity, was the first to end its association with her.
Julia’s House said,
“Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity.”
Ferguson had previously described the charity as a “sanctuary of harmony and joy.” Julia’s House supports children who are diagnosed with terminal illnesses and their families.
Additionally, both Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson could be barred from participating in private royal family activities in the future.
King Charles and the late Queen often struggled to ban the Duke of York from family occasions because Prince Andrew had consistently denied his guilt regarding his association with Epstein.
In recent years, Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah, have made numerous appearances on royal family outings. However, that could soon change.
Andrew has been seen walking with the royal family to church for Christmas mass each year. It was also shocking to see Prince Andrew alongside the senior royals at last week’s funeral for the Duchess of Kent.
Reportedly, US investigators have access to more damaging emails sent from the Duke to Jeffrey Epstein. Charles will now have no option but to prevent Prince Andrew from attending future family events.
