In fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Queen is even financially backing Prince Andrew’s legal battle against his sex abuse lawsuit. Here’s what you need to know.
Queen Elizabeth Is Financing Prince Andrew’s Legal Battle
According to reports, the Duke of York was served with the civil suit filed by Virginia Giuffre on August 27, according to a document filed in a New York court. The document says the suit was left with a police officer on duty at the gates of the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The filing says the way in which the document was left at the gates of the property is “consistent with the provisions for service upon an individual defendant, under Section 6 of the Civil Procedure Rules, as required by the Supreme Court of Judicature in England & Wales.”
And now a report says it’s Queen Elizabeth who is taking care of her son’s legal bills.Her Majesty has allegedly agreed to help pay the fees to fight this in court. The Telegraph reports that Queen Elizabeth is using funds from her private Duchy of Lancaster estate. Representatives for the queen and Buckingham Palace, as well as Prince Andrew’s attorneys.
Meanwhile, Prince Andrew has denied the allegations in the past and a spokeswoman representing the Duke of York has declined to comment on the latest update. We will keep you updated with all of the latest details as they come in.
