A YouGov poll on Monday found that 64 percent of Britons now have a negative view of the once-popular prince – his lowest-ever rating – and that Meghan also scores dismally. Yikes.

They may also be straining public interest in Meghan‘s homeland, according to the New York Times. “Even in the United States, which has a soft spot for royals in exile and a generally higher tolerance than Britain does for redemptive stories about overcoming trauma and family dysfunction, there is a sense that there are only so many revelations the public can stomach,” its former London correspondent Sarah Lyall wrote.
Prince Harry’s Spare has already become the UK’s fastest-selling non-fiction book ever as the Duke of Sussex reveals intimate details about his life in the spotlight – and damaging details about the British royal family. He speaks of a physical altercation with his estranged brother and future king, Prince William, and calls Charles’ current wife and queen, Camilla, the “villain;” Camilla was long-denigrated for the role she played in the breakup of Charles and Diana’s marriage.
In his memoir Spare, Harry said that the Queen Consort Camilla met privately with him and William before she married their father. “Shortly after our private summits with her, she began to play the long game. A campaign aimed at marriage, and eventually the Crown, with Pa’s blessing we presumed,” Harry wrote.
In the book, he writes, “I remember wondering … if she would be cruel to me; if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories.” He added: “Willy had been suspicious of the Other Woman for a long time, which confused and tormented him. When those suspicions were confirmed, he felt agonizing remorse for not having done or said anything before.”
