Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to co-produce yet another polo-themed Netflix flop—their new project, which will involve two warring families.
Their New Polo-Themed Show Will Be Produced By Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions
The currently untitled scripted series is said to be set
“In the high-flying equestrian town of Wellington, Florida. It revolves around the awkward dynamics between two rival teams and the families that lead them.”
The show is also thought to be inspired by Prince Harry’s “passion project,” Polo. The 2024 Netflix docuseries performed dismally and was a ratings disaster.
The couple’s Archewell Productions will produce the scripted drama series. It is unclear how far into development their new project is.
According to the Daily Mail,
“The project will widen the scope of what is considered an elitist sport beyond the rich owners and star players.”
The idea of two warring families has apparently made some royal fans uncomfortable, given the rift between the Sussexes and the Windsors.
The Daily Mail implies that this upcoming Polo series is likely to be the first project under Harry and Meghan’s new downgraded first-look deal with the streaming giant.
The Duke of Sussex’s Polo documentary flopped hard. It performed abysmally, ranking 3,436th out of around 7,000 shows, with a catastrophic 5,000 global views in 2025.
The first Polo show was a huge disappointment for Netflix, as it featured Prince Harry so little. Studio bosses were shocked that there was very little footage of Harry.
Harry’s First Polo Docuseries Was a Massive Flop
Critics also described the show as
“A tedious inside look at posh-polo”
And
“A mostly boring look at a sport that very few people outside of elite circles have any particular interest in.”
We think Harry and Meghan’s first-look deal with Netflix may soon dissolve, as the couple has provided no creative progress on several projects.
For example, the pair announced they would produce a love movie called Meet Me at the Lake way back in August 2023. The film was said to be an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Carley Fortune, also titled “The Film.”
The project is in development hell, with zero forward progress. Also, in the fall of last year, Harry and Meghan announced another romance, titled The Wedding Date, an adaptation of Jasmine Guillory’s novel that is still in development.
The couple announces projects, but they never seem to come to fruition. These two love stories are both scripted projects, unlike their countless failed Netflix documentaries.
They are truly all over the place. Harry and Meghan are holding on to their association with Netflix by a thread, as Variety reported a little over a week ago.
There Is Zero Movement On Any of the Scripted Series the Couple Has Announced
So, now, Harry and Meghan have proposed another Polo-themed series, only this time, it’s a scripted series. We all know they aren’t creative enough to pull this off.
Netflix has also pulled out as an investor in Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, and also pulled the plug on additional seasons of “With Love, Meghan.”
Harry and Meghan haven’t turned much of a profit for Netflix with either As Ever or “With Love, Meghan.” Meghan claimed that Netflix was “holding her back with As Ever,” which is an obvious lie. Netflix has ten million dollars’ worth of leftover As Ever products.
The Duchess of Sussex also failed to cross-promote As Ever products on her show, and no one was compelled to purchase her jams, teas, or other items. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are sitting on their butts, not moving on anything.
Insiders at the streaming giant told Variety that the Sussexes were “Difficult to work with at times, with one declaring,
“The mood in the building is, ‘We’re done.”
