Prince Harry and King Charles have started to take steps toward reconciliation. A secret peace summit was held recently for the two of them to try to repair their broken relationship.
Charles Wants A Relationship With His Grandchildren, Archie And Lilibet
Charles is still battling cancer. That, coupled with his age, is likely prompting him to want to reconcile with his younger son. Naturally, he also wants a relationship with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.
It isn’t clear which side extended the olive branch, but insiders claim the summit is a sign that they want to resolve their bitter feud.
“Harry was represented by Merideth Maines, his chief communications officer and head of his household in Montecito, California, who flew in from Los Angeles.”
“She met with Tobyn Andreae, the King’s communications secretary, at the Royal Overseas League, a three-minute walk from Clarence House, the monarch’s London residence. Also present was Liam Maguire, who runs the Sussex PR team in the UK.”
The Duke of Sussex has significantly wounded the royal family as he’s shared the private details of family squabbles and made several remarks to the media regarding the infamous royal family rift.
Additionally, the leaking of the details of the meeting appears to be a coordinated and strategic move. We have to wonder if Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, alerted the media about the summit.
The Sussexes’ communications team likely leaked it. The couple was reportedly “upset and frustrated” that the details of the summit were revealed and denied that they purposefully disclosed the information.
The meeting occurred outside, practically inviting the paparazzi to come and take pictures. The aides were sitting on a balcony having drinks and discussing the estrangement between Harry and Charles.
Harry And Meghan Clearly Leaked Details Of The Summit To The Press
Harry and Meghan clearly undermined the royal family once again. We highly doubt that Charles’s communication team leaked this.
We all know that this is the Sussexes’ attempt to improve their negative public image. Now that the channels of communication are open, we can expect the couple to take full advantage.
Charles may be making a massive mistake by trying to reconcile with his bratty, chatty, self-pitying Harry, as it puts Prince William in a terrible position.
Harry has repeatedly hurt the royal family with his vicious attacks on his father, brother, and even his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. In his most recent offense, Harry openly blamed his father for his security issues in his BBC interview.
The meeting essentially sets William up for failure. Over the past five years, the Sussexes have tried to destroy the royals. They whine and complain to the press about them constantly.
That said, it’s understandable that Charles wants to reconcile with Harry, but he’s going to leave a mess for William to clean up when he becomes King if Harry is allowed back into the fold. Charles needs to be careful and consider what giving in to Harry means for William.
William wants nothing to do with his backstabbing brother. Charles has a vision of perfect family unity, which is a fantasy. Harry and Meghan have no future in the monarchy. William already knows it’s wise to put the crown above all else.
