The late Queen Elizabeth II was bothered by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to “Take away the only thing she owned.”
Robert Hardman Was Told By The Late Queen’s Staff She Was
“As Angry As I’d Ever Seen Her”
Several of the late Queen’s granddaughters and great-granddaughters have been bestowed a privilege. They carry the middle name Elizabeth as a tribute to Her Majesty.
Harry and Meghan named their little girl, who just celebrated her fourth birthday, Lilibet. The nickname Lilibet was given to Queen Elizabeth II and is only used by her closest family and friends.
The Queen told a palace aide,
“I don’t own the palaces, I don’t own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name, and now they’ve taken that.”
Royal expert Robert Hardman wrote that one of the late Queen’s staff told him she was
“As angry as I’d ever seen her”
After Harry and Meghan publicly declared that they would have never used her private family nickname had the Queen not been “supportive.”
A source close to the palace stated that the Sussexes never asked permission to use the name. The couple’s false narrative that they had ever spoken to the Queen regarding the use of the name was a lie.
However, a spokesman for Harry and Meghan claimed that the Queen was Harry’s first call after Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021.
Harry purported that during their conversation,
“he shared their hope of naming his daughter Lilibet in her honor.”
The BBC called BS on Harry and Meghan, claiming the couple’s insistence that they sought the Queen’s permission and had received her approval was a lie.
The BBC’s refutation of their claims turned into a massive row. The Sussexes hired their legal firm, Schillings, to send a letter to the BBC. The letter suggested that their report, which stated that Harry and Meghan failed to ask the Queen, was “false and defamatory and should not be repeated.”
Buckingham Palace Feared Conflict With Harry And Meghan
At the time, Buckingham Palace feared conflict with Harry and Meghan. Oprah had recently interviewed them and made numerous false accusations about the royal family.
The Queen’s “Recollections may vary” response to the couple’s damaging claims about the royal family was clearly a jab at Meghan.
The late Queen’s adorable nickname, Lilibet, was given to her when she was a toddler. She was not able to pronounce her name.
The only people who had ever called her Lilibet were her parents, grandfather, and late husband, Prince Philip. A few other close family and friends would sometimes refer to her as Lilibet.
The staff of the late Queen was disgusted by Harry and Meghan. They only seemed to use the royal family when they wanted something.
Using the Queen’s family nickname for their daughter made it look like Harry and Meghan were on good terms with the royal family, but they had just told the world that they were racist and refused to help Meghan when she was having a mental health crisis.
Queen Elizabeth II Always Followed The Most Graceous Path
The Queen never spoke a word against the Sussexes until she learned they were exploiting her good name in their legal dispute with the BBC.
According to Robert Hardman, despite Buckingham Palace’s good wishes on social media after Lilibet was born. They refused to allow Harry and Meghan to coerce them into propping up the couple and their phony narrative.
Interestingly, once the palace made it clear to Harry and Meghan that they weren’t getting what they wanted. The threats of legal action disappeared. Harry and Meghan insist to this day that they gave the name to Lilibet in honor of Queen Elizabeth II.
