King Charles has extended an olive branch to Prince Harry as he’s planning his final public act of bringing his family together.
The King Hopes To Reconcile With Prince Harry
The Telegraph reported that Charles is holding out hope that he will be reunited with his younger son, and he might still develop a relationship with his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.
The UK-based outlet also stated that the King is keeping the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their two children, “at the heart of his funeral plans.”
The codename for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral plan was titled Operation London Bridge. The King’s funeral is Operation Menai Bridge.
Charles’s intention to make Harry and his immediate family the center of the funeral seems like a very emotional and potentially misguided decision.
Hopefully, Charles’ funeral is still a long way off. His illness isn’t in a critical stage. However, insiders reveal that his cancer is incurable.
Charles’s ongoing health battle has prompted him to think ahead. Not to mention, royal family events are also planned years in advance with adjustments made over time.
The King wants his funeral to include many of the same elements that were involved in his mother, Queen Elizabeth II’s, funeral. However, Charles has also made some adjustments that “reflect his own personal beliefs.”
The royal train won’t be factored into the plans, as that mode of transportation has been discontinued from all royal death plans.
The monarch has also expressed his desire to have his commitment to environmental causes incorporated into the occasion. Sustainable elements should be the rule whenever possible.
Charles’ Plans May Be Based On Wishful Thinking
The King wants Harry and Meghan to play prominent roles at his funeral. Harry is expected to walk alongside his brother, Prince William, who by then will be King, during the funeral procession.
Harry and Meghan will also be invited to participate in the family vigil during the King’s lying-in-state at Westminster Hall, and they will be highly involved.
Arrangements were also made for Archie and Lilibet to attend the service at Westminster Abbey and the committal at St. George’s Chapel.
He aims to bring his family together as his final public act. We have to wonder if this is wishful thinking on the King’s part.
The family unity would be fake. After all, William has made it perfectly clear he wants nothing to do with his brother.
The issue with Charles’ plan is that it reinforces Harry’s poor behavior. Even the security arrangements have already been put in place.
Insiders claim that Meghan has been the key instigator in the situation. We think Meghan is the one who wanted to come back to America, and she’s the one who perpetuated the royal rift. If Charles gives Meghan an inch, she’ll take a mile.
We have a feeling that Meghan wouldn’t even attend the funeral unless she could somehow monetize it. It’s hard to even imagine her setting foot in the UK again. The Brits don’t think very highly of the Duchess.
In the end, honoring the crown is more important than any personal dynamic. William recognizes this truth even now, and he will represent the crown when the time comes. William is not going to tolerate Harry and Meghan’s nonsense.
