Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback “Big” Ben Roethlisberger has taken his final snap at home after 18 years in the league. Beginning his career in 2004, he’s been the starting quarterback for the Steelers since, and amassed a total of 63,844 yards, 417 touchdowns with 210 interceptions, and a career QB rating of 93.6.

January 3rd, Monday Night Football, marked his last home game in the NFL, and just when everyone thought he had taken his last snap, the Steelers got the ball with 10 seconds left. Letting Roethlisberger take one final knee is a poetic exit from football.

He still has one more game left to play next week, but to take a final knee at home was emotional, and fans everywhere have poured out to say nice things about the career-long stint with them.

“He played his heart out for the game, 18 years and 2 Super Bowls, that’s something to be proud of.”, “this was such a poetic ending, DEFENSE giving him one last snap to kneel it down. THANKYOUBEN”, “Feels good to see the man finally take a rest, gonna miss you big ben- patriots fan 🥲” and “I’m just happy that he’s got a chance to say goodbye to city that knew him and loved him very much.”

Roethlisberger has been the face of the Steeler’s organization for so long, it’ll be weird not seeing him next year. We wish him a healthy retirement and lots of fun with his family now. Incredible career, Super Bowl champion and a future Hall of Famer. Congratulations Big Ben. You’ve earned it.
