Netflix Teaser - 'Dracula' Coming January 4th!

Netflix’s new tv mini-series Dracula is coming next year! It will release on January 4th, and according to IMDB will feature three episodes. The grand total is a four and half hour adventure through the dark world of The King of Vampires, Dracula. Not much is shown in the teaser, but a summary is listed below the video. “From the makers of Sherlock, the Count Dracula legend transforms with new tales. Claes Bang stars as Dracula in this brand-new series inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel.”

Is the age of zombies coming to an end after nearly a decade in the spotlight? Shows like The Walking Dead, Z Nation and games were littered with the undead creatures. Is it finally at the end of its rope? Vampires have been making a comeback over the last few months, with multiple Netflix shows and movies. I think a new age is upon us, and this could be the return to the dark side of the mythical creatures.

Netflix Teaser – ‘Dracula’: A Return To The Darker Side?

Shows like Vampire Diaries and the Twilight film series are often mocked or ridiculed for making vampires unscary. The original Dracula was a horror story, and the films often tried to show the darkness. However, in recent memory, they have been softer and more inviting to creativity.

It seems from the teaser we could be getting a return to brutality and bloody side of the story. Just from the short video, we are treated to horror, blood, and frightening images. The gore and grotesque isn’t left to the imagination either!

Netflix Teaser – ‘Dracula’: Netflix Mini-Series

We’ve all seen Netflix’s original films and series. They don’t hold back and aren’t afraid to create adult-oriented content. That is exactly what a series like Dracula needs, somewhere it can “live and breath” in it’s darkest form.

Usually, scary films shouldn’t have to rely on cheap thrills and gore to be “scary”. In Dracula’s case, blood is basically his middle name. We need to see the blood and gore with a story as dark as this.

Claes Bang portrays the legendary Dracula, and even his look screams back to Bela Lugosi, the original Dracula from 1931. It looks and feels like the original, but with better effects and cameras. It doesn’t try to modernize the story and looks like it will keep its roots strong in the ground. Check out the teaser trailer below!
