‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers reveal rumors are always flying on the internet. Things can escalate quickly, leaving fans confused about what’s going on. Or who will (or won’t) be back in Salem. However, there’s one return fans should definitely not count on. Here’s what you need to know.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Welcome back?
One of the more popular rumors centers around Bo Brady (Peter Reckell). We’ve heard talk of this before, and we even had some speculation on what might be at one point. However, there’s never been any confirmed reports of actor actually returning to the show. Until now—allegedly.
A Facebook account claiming to be Peter Reckell broke the news he was in talks to make a brief return. This set the internet on fire and got the attention of the actor himself. This is where things get too ironic for us.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Fake news not fact-checked?
Anyone who has spent time on Facebook know that the site has been quick with deleting a lot of information on their platform. Lots of articles come with “missing context” or “false” warnings. Some even direct you to resources on a specific topic.
There have even been times where the platform made people provide their ID to verify their ownership of an account/that they were using their legal name. People who spread what the site calls false information get tossed off fast enough to make one’s head spin. Except this fake news.
Despite the actor’s insistence he does not have a Facebook page and fans reporting the account, the platform decided not to take action against the imposter account. They claimed it didn’t violate their guidelines and posed no threat to their community.
We’re pretty sure we remember them saying specifically you aren’t allowed to impersonate a public figure or anyone else on the platform. But we guess that’s something they decided no longer applies. We hope fans are on the alert. Multiple fake accounts have impersonated others, often ending up defrauding fans and not just with fake news. Sometimes, they get money as well.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Backing it up
Reckell’s wife also stepped into the situation. Posting on her account, singer/songwriter/producer Kelly Moneymaker said, “Hi Lovelies! My husband, PETER RECKELL, does NOT have a Facebook account. Someone is impersonating him AGAIN!
We do not live in Hamilton and my career is NOT the reason he left #daysofourlives. Sheesh. Please do not be scammed by this impersonator. It’s so awful when people do this. It hurts people we care about and it’s a massive pain to deal with. Sorry for any and all who were mislead & love to all of you!!! XXX–Kelly”
While we’d love to get the chance to see Bo in action, it doesn’t look like that’s in the cards. Be wary of accounts claiming to be a favorite actor/musician/etc. You never know who else might be behind the profile.
