Meghan Markle recently released a video on Instagram to promote her As Ever Christmas range and has been slammed by royal fans for her “drab and depressing” promo.
Meghan Is Selling Champagne for a Whopping $89 a Bottle
Additionally, fans claim the video is also sorely lacking in festive Holiday cheer. Her As Ever Christmas collection features a $64 candle, a bottle of bubbly for a whopping $89, and a mulled spice kit.
Meghan’s champagne is a 2021 Vintage Napa Valley Brut. It’s described as a “curated blend of the finest varietals, that delights the palate with gentle notes of green apple and pear, accents of citrus and white peach, and a subtle hint of starfruit for balanced brightness and a crisp, elegant finish.”
Of course, her new sparkling wine has raised eyebrows for the absurd cost. She could have easily come out with something more affordable, like a prosecco. ‘
Some critics and consumers have also complained that her $64 candles do not come with a wick. We all know the wick is the most essential aspect of the candle.
Without a wick, the candle is obviously unusable. It’s unheard of for a candle that expensive to be sold without a wick.
Her mulled cider spice kit sells for $16. She’s also selling a hot toddy kit for $16. Her mulled cider kit is described as “a really cozy, warm beverage that everyone can enjoy.”
Fans called her hot toddy “lazy and likened it to potpourri used to scent a bathroom or home.” Fans criticized Meghan’s attempt at making a hot toddy, claiming she only mulled hot water.
A hot toddy is supposed to include alcohol, like whiskey. In fact, the whiskey creates a hot toddy.
Meghan’s Holiday Special Was Released on the Same Night as the Royal Variety Show
In her video, the Duchess of Sussex wore a brown silk dress. Fans immediately noted that her promo only featured “bland, boring browns.”
The holidays are meant to be bright and cheery, and Meghan apparently missed the mark. Meghan’s brown-and-beige promo is depressing and pretentious.
Meghan’s overpriced As Ever items are also very banal. You can literally go to your local supermarket and purchase a variety of well-made jams and honey for half the price.
Not to mention, the promo for Meghan’s Netflix “With Love, Meghan” holiday special was released on the same night as the Royal Variety Show. Kate looked stunning in her green velvet dress. Meghan can’t stop trying to compete with Kate Middleton.
Every time Meghan releases a trailer or promo, it clashes significantly with what the royal family is doing. She literally released the trailer for her holiday special moments before Prince William and Princess Kate were set to step out for the Royal Variety Performance.
Plus, in Meghan’s latest newsletter for her lifestyle brand, As Ever, she spoke endlessly about her family’s preparations for Thanksgiving.
Very few people actually care about what Meghan’s family does for Thanksgiving. In the newsletter, she shared that her children, Archie and Lilibet, harvest sage from their garden to season their homemade dinner. The entire family gets involved with the harvest.
Meghan’s holiday special will air on Netflix on December 3rd. Meghan used her usual word salad to describe her upcoming holiday special, “Let the festivities commence and embrace the special touches that bring you joy.”
