Meghan Markle has once again offended royal fans with her decision to launch her new “celeb copycat” Napa Valley rose wine on the same day as Princess Diana’s birthday.
Royal Fans Complained About Meghan “Dining Out On Diana’s Memory”
The Duchess of Sussex announced on Instagram that she will make her wine available for purchase on July 1st, the day the late Princess of Wales would be celebrating her 64th birthday.
The wine is another meager, unimpressive offering from her lifestyle brand, As Ever. The description of the wine was given on her Instagram account: “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality and lasting finish.”
Meghan posted the image of a bottle sitting on a table, poolside, flanked by two wine glasses and ripe apricots. We all know that a glossy and contrived presentation is everything to Meghan Markle.
It’s beyond despicable that Meghna has chosen to peddle her cheap wine on the same day as her late mother-in-law’s birthday, proving once again that she’s totally classless.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter responded to the post on social media with disgust by writing, “July 1st, Diana’s birthday….”
Many royal fans complained that Meghna was “literally dining out on Diana’s memory.” Others called Meghan’s decision “tacky.”
Meghan’s obsession with following in the footsteps of Princess Diana may be the principal reason why she’s chosen this particular release date.
Meghan is marking the date of her husband, Prince Harry’s mother, by desperately trying to make a profit on her summer wine.
Of course, the Duchess has capitalized on Diana’s lasting appeal to boost sales of her brand before. However, she was much more subtle about it.
Meghan Tried To Compete With Another Princess Of Wales
In May, she reposted a snap on her company’s official Instagram page of one of the “Sussex Squad” members. They were showing off their “baking skills” as they had apparently made As Ever shortbread cookies. They showed them in a Diana-inspired tea tin.
Meghan also embarrassed herself when she launched her raspberry jam and dog biscuits. She presented them on the same day that another Princess of Wales was set to make her triumphant return to royal duties.
After her heartbreaking and challenging battle with cancer. Kate Middelton made her first public appearance in months at Trooping the Color in June 2024.
On that same day, Meghan teased her new lifestyle brand products. Meghan’s team later swore that she had never intended to try to compete with Kate.
However, these little “coincidences” keep happening with Meghan. She always seems to want to launch her products on essential dates in the royal family calendar.
Meghan is well aware that Diana’s star has shone bright long after her death. It’s not hard to imagine her using her late mother-in-law to draw attention.
Meghan has also always been interested in Diana. Despite her previous claims that she knew nothing about Prince Harry before she met him.
It’s ironic because Diana was known for her selfless humanitarian work, while Meghan is associated with glaring business mistakes, mediocre products, and deception and lies.
She’s also now known for awkwardly twerking in a fake hospital room ahead of the birth of her daughter, Lilibet. Meghan Markle sees Princess Diana’s birthday as yet another business opportunity.
