Meghan Markle has admitted that she may never restock her sold-out jam. She was interviewed by the US business magazine “Fast Company,” and she discussed her plans to “step back to assess” her As Ever Brand, which, for all intents and purposes, should really be called “As Never.”
Meghan Claims Netflix Wants Her To Have Her Own Store
The Duchess of Sussex discussed juggling motherhood and her business ventures, including her recently concluded podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder,” which is nearing its conclusion.
Products such as jam, honey, and herbal teas from the first As Ever brand launch in April sold out in less than an hour.
It was speculated that she only had a limited number of items to create interest and give the illusion that she sold all her products quickly.
Meghan Markle now claims she wants to
“take a step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what As Ever should be.”
We’re unsure of how much more time she needs to “figure out” what to do with As Ever. It took her over a year to release the brand, initially titled “American Riviera Orchard.
New products for As Ever should be released in 2026, according to Meghan. She aims to “better understand the customer’s needs seasonally.”
Meghan said that Netflix agreed it would be more sensible for her to have her own store rather than market her products under their brand.
Netflix already has its online shop selling brand-related items associated with the shows featured on the streaming platform.
She also admitted,
“If I had to write a resume, I wouldn’t know what to call myself.”
Meghan Markle said she also has plans to sell home goods, clothes, and other fashion-related products.
“Fashion is a category I plan to explore down the line because I find it to be an intriguing space for me,”
Meghan explained. However, she has completely abandoned her ShopMy site.
The interview took place the same day as Meghan shared very personal information on her podcast. She spoke to Sara Blakely, the founder of Spanx, who pivoted from her original brand to create a sneaker hybrid high-heeled line.
Meghan Called Herself A “Successful Businesswoman”
Meghan praised the innovator’s creative approach to comfy yet sexy shoes. It led to Meghan revealing that she gained 65 pounds with both pregnancies, but still wore heels.
She said she would walk in high-heeled stilettos and feel like she was going to fall. She would cling to Prince Harry and think, “Please don’t let me fall.”
The Duchess of Sussex did face some criticism for wearing high heels during her pregnancy, as many doctors warned against it due to the fear of a pregnant woman losing her balance and falling, potentially harming the baby.
One critic pointed out that while Meghan clearly may feel comfortable in heels, she definitely shouldn’t wear them while she was expecting. It’s reckless and irresponsible.
The College of Podiatry advises women to wear safe and comfortable footwear during pregnancy, preferably with adjustable features such as Velcro.
They add,
“High heels can place a lot of pressure on your joints at a time when they are already under strain.”
Of course, later in the podcast, the pair also discussed being two successful businesswomen in a male-dominated world.
Meghan’s self-proclaimed success as a businesswoman reveals her jarring lack of self-awareness, as everything she and Harry have tried to do following Megxit has failed spectacularly.
