In a chat with In Touch, Mindy explains why she made the decision to choose herself, rather than her partner. Zach accused Mindy of “betraying him,” and Mindy says he “compromises” her emotional health.
34-year-old Mindy says while she left her marriage to Zach early, she doesn’t see it as herself giving up. She says that she thinks she made a healthy choice for herself. Mindy stated that she gave her marriage everything “and then some.” However, she realized that Zach was compromising her “emotional health and wellbeing.” This made her decide to walk away.

Mindy Shiben doesn’t blame herself for her failed marriage. In fact, she thinks the husband chosen for her is the one at fault. Mindy says she never felt she and her MAFS husband were a team at any stage of the experiment. Also, while she sometimes believed that things might turn out good, she soon discovered that she is being “betrayed”.
While the MAFS star truly wants herself and Zach to be on the same team, this is impossible for both of them. Shiben is so frustrated because her MAFS partner is not ready to build a marriage with her.
Mindy says she doesn’t blame the matchmaking experts on the show for setting her up with her partner. She says she understands why the matchmakers matched them. Shiben says that while her relationship with Zach has ended, her “free-spirited, artistic” nature does match perfectly with a partner who has Zach’s “structure” and “self-discipline.”
The MAFS admits that she and Zach both prioritize health and wellness. The duo’s careers are also along similar lines, so she feels the team at Married at First Sight saw an opportunity for herself and Zach to bring out the best in each other. But it did not work out.

Although her marriage to Zach has hit the rocks, Mindy says she is ready to get married again once she meets the right person. In fact, she is sure she is ready to get married even before she appeared on the show. She says that she had taken the taken the time to work on herself and she is ready to have a life with someone else.
Mindy says she is ready to spend the rest of her life with the right person. Also, she has everything she needs to do this and to experience a great marriage. Mindy believes her experience on Married At First Sight. She said that before she joined the show, she didn’t really have “a type.” Also, she said that the traits of her ex partners were “all over the map.”
One good thing the show experiment has done for the celeb is to force her to cautiously examine all the things she needs from a potential husband. Shiben admits that all the questionnaires and interviews were of great help in that respect.
