Kate Consoled Amanda Anisimova After She Lost The Tournament
The crowd clapped and cheered as the Princess of Wales stepped into the royal box. The Princess of Wales smiled brightly and sat next to tennis legend Billie Jean King.
On Kate’s right sat another tennis champion, Martina Navratilova. Amanda Anisimova was in tears as she received a brutal beating courtesy of Iga Swiatek as Swiatek won the final.
The score was 6-0, 6-0, with the higher score being achieved by Swiatek. Kate is the chosen patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
The Princess presented the runner-up trophy to Anisimova, who struggled to hold back her tears. The tennis player had to leave the court following the game.
She documented a double bagel scoreline in the women’s final, which was the first in 114 years in 1911. It only occurred one other time in Grand Slam history.
Anisimova broke down in tears as she admitted that her mother flew in from America to watch her play.
Anisimova said, “I know I didn’t have enough today, but I will keep putting in the work, and I hope to be back here one day.”
The only other time there had been a 6-0. The 6-0 scoreline was in a Grand Slam final in 1988 when Steffi Graf beat Natasha Zvereva in the French Open.
Kate looked stunning when she arrived at Wimbledon this morning, wearing an elegant cream ensemble that included a high-collared top, a flowing skirt, and a Wimbledon bow as the cherry on top.
The bow featured the official colors of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, which are purple and green.
