Comedian, podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan has clearly wore a lot of hats in his life, however, one that he cherishes most is being a comic and you hear it all the time if you listen to his podcasts. Rogan came up in Boston, but once made Los Angeles his home, and with it, came The Comedy Store.
If you’ve listened to one episode of his show, you’ve undoubtedly heard about The Comedy Store and what it means to him. He was even banned from there for a while after he shut down Carlos Mencia for stealing jokes. However, it still remains an integral part of who he is.
The Store is celebrating 50 years, and Rogan took to Instagram to share his appreciation.
“Happy 50th birthday to the greatest comedy club the world has ever known. It has been a true honor to perform there, and inside those walls I learned how to be a real comic and met some of my best friends for life.
I hope that place exists and thrives forever.”
Joe Rogan Hopes The Comedy Store Exists Forever While Celebrating Its 50th Birthday
Rogan took a minute to speak about how much of an honor it was to perform there and how he learned his trade within those walls.
As many people know now though, he has moved to Texas where he has plans of opening his own comedy club and has also spoken a lot about that on his podcast. It sounds like it’s getting closer and closer to being finished and maybe in 50 years there will be new comics talking about performing at Joe Rogans Comedy Club in Texas.
