It seems that there are many rumors going around about the new TikTok sensations, James Charles and Charli D’Amelio. Many followers of the young TikTokers think that the only reason Charles hangs out with D’Amelio is to get more”clout” and followers on social media.
D’Amelio has over 100 million followers, so of course, it does look as if hanging out with her could help him. Charles took to his Instagram account to tell his followers all about these rumors and how he was feeling about it all.

This drama all began when Charles got a message from a fan that said, “You secretly hate a lot of TikTokers and you just hang out with them for clout.” He was very quick to send the response to this fan. He wrote, “I obviously am a very busy person and I’m going to spend my time with people. It’s going to be people that I enjoy being around. I do not need clout. I’m doing just fine on my own thank you very much.” He went on to say that many people ask him why he hangs out with the “children” that he has been seen with.

Charles continued, “Aside from Charli, who is younger, literally everybody that I’m friends with from the TikTok world is one to two years youngers than me, if not older. I feel like because I’ve been here for awhile a lot of people assume I’m way older, but that’s not the case.”
Charles is 22 and D’Amelio is 18. He does have a wide variety of friends who are different ages, but if this follower called his friends, “children”, he is not too far ahead in age.
He went on, “Everyone else my age was either finishing school or was out here in Hollywood going to parties. I really love the act that I became friends with a lot of the TikTokers now because we have a lot in common and I finally get to hang out with people that are my age and are going through similar things in their personal life and also their careers.”
