Hilary Duff admits that she has some regrets about being a child actor. And it’s not because she might have had too much work on her plate, but rather because she missed out on having a solid education. Here’s what she has to say.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan in a new interview, Hilary said that she wishes she could turn back time just so she could have gotten a better education when she was younger.
Hilary Duff Has Some Regrets About Being A Child Actor
When asked by the publication what she would do differently, Hilary said, “I wouldn’t do it all exactly the same, but I can’t look at my life and be like, “I wish this was different,” because I don’t know if it would get me to where I am right now. I wish I had a little bit of a better education. I wish I had a little bit of a college experience. But what would that look like? The thing that I crave out of it wouldn’t look the way I pictured it because of who I am and how I came up.”
She added, “I feel smart, but there are certain things that people talk about where it literally isn’t in my brain because I didn’t experience it. I learned other things that people don’t have a clue about. But I don’t sit and harp on that.”
That said, Hilary also admitted in the same interview that she might have thought about leaking footage of the halted “Lizzie” reboot for her fans. She said, “I would be lying if I didn’t say I didn’t have those thoughts a few times. But I wouldn’t because in my 34 years I’ve realized that everything does happen for a reason. There’s a time and a place for everything. It just wasn’t her moment. I’m constantly asked about it still. All it does is breathe life into the fact that people still want it, and that’s really sweet. It’s not dead, and it’s not alive.”
Hilary Duff starred in the title role of the Disney series, Lizzie McGuire. Back in May and during an appearance on the Jess Cagle Show, Hilary hinted that it just didn’t work out between her and the producers of the show.
She said, “I think they are really trying to figure out what kind of content they want living on Disney+, and that doesn’t totally align with, like, where I see Lizzie right now. I’m very protective of her and they’re very protective of her.”
