Hilary Duff has spoken on some of the difficulties she went through during the birth of her daughter Mae.
What Went Down During Hilary Duff’s Latest Pregnancy?
The actress already has two children, Luca and Banks, but that did not stop her from wanting to be a mother again. And it seems, she wanted to show Luca just how strong women could be. During an interview on the Informed Pregnancy Podcast, she said: “[I wanted to show Luca] the strength of women. [Luca was] right as I was pulling the baby out.”
But as for her husband Matthew Koma, he did something that was even more dramatic. He had actually missed the birth, not intentionally, but through circumstances which were out of his control. Once it was done, he was there to cherish every moment, regardless. She added: “[He came] after the fact. He wanted to be there for it, but it happened so fast he missed it.”
And yet, these were not the only struggles that Hilary went through. She revealed the problems after the birth with breastfeeding. This is something new for Hilary, and it is right that she should be cautious. Her approach may be doing her more harm than good, as she admitted to feeling worried. She continued: “Since I haven’t [had breastfeeding problems] in the past, I have tons of anxiety that I’m not.
“And that she’s not getting enough, and then I’m in my head. And then I don’t feel like enough, and then the spiral continues from there.” The demanding nature of looking after a new baby has impacted Hilary’s interaction with her other kids. In particular, Banks, who happens to be 2-years old. Although she has persisted with the difficulties, there is no denying that it has been a challenge.
She noted: “This takes up such a huge portion of the day. It seems like every 20 minutes, I’m feeding the baby, and I have to be sitting in one place… It’s just hard.” This would explain Hilary’s recent Instagram activity, where she has been posting her attempts at breastfeeding.
In the picture, Lizzie is very frank over how she feels about it all, despite the criticism that has come her way over these posts. The image was simply captioned: “I did a lot of this today.”
