Hilary Duff has defended her decision to have her 7-month-old daughter Mae’s ears pierced following concerns over whether it was the right thing to do.

Parenting is something that is not an exact science, and this is something that Hilary is all too aware of. She had previously been criticised over her decision to share a photo that showed her breastfeeding her child.
Although she continued to do what she thought was right, the experience did take an emotional toll on her. And in response to this latest revelation, Hilary has prepared herself for the outrage that is going to be follow.
In a post to her fans on Instagram, Hilary shared a picture of herself and her daughter, who had the piercings. The post was captioned with the following comments: “Yes! I pierced her ears today.
“Can’t wait for the internet to call me a child abuser….again. lesss go.” This is something that the actress has done before, and therefore it should be no surprise that she has decided to do it again.
In 2019, Hilary made the decision to get her daughter Banks’ ears pierced. Much in the same way, people were divided over whether she had done the right thing.
And yet, this is only half of it. Hilary has been accused of doing much worse. She had once infamously become a trending topic after some unfounded allegations were made against her, which suggested that she had been involved in child trafficking.
The post which led to this, which has now been deleted, showed a picture of her son naked with some lotion on him. In response at the time, Hilary hit back at the claims.
She said: “Everyone bored af right now I know..but this is actually disgusting….. whoever dreamed this one up and put this garbage into the universe should take a break from their damn phone. Maybe get a hobby.”
Time will tell whether Hilary will get any backlash over the piercings, but given what we have seen in the past, it is only a matter of time. With that in mind, it is probably wise that she has thick skin.
