‘American Idol‘ champion Caleb Johnson is continuing on the tradition following Meat Loaf’s passing saying he would stick to the old adage of the show must go on. Johnson sings in the late singer’s band and is doing the best he can to fill his shoes.
He’s confident the boss wouldn’t want him to quit just because he’s no longer with us. Instead, he’ll keep Meat Loaf’s band going with their Music of Meat Loaf shows.
For those who don’t know, Caleb got Meat Loaf’s blessing a few years ago to become the lead singer for Neverland Express, and they’ve been touring since 2018, with Meat Loaf even joining them a few times.
Season 13 ‘American Idol’ Champ Caleb Johnson Says The Show Will Go On After Meat Loaf’s Death
While it’s been a sad moment for the rock world with the passing of Meat Loaf, Caleb says the band’s plans to take the stage on February 4th will continue on. However, Caleb admits that he will be feeling the pressure to keep Meat Loaf’s legacy alive, explaining that it’s hard to sing his famous rock tunes.
If there’s anyone who could keep the legacy alive, it’s Johnson. If you haven’t heard of him or don’t remember, he took the world by storm on ‘American Idol’, being one of the few rockers the show has had and absolutely blew everyone away with his voice and range. His renditions of ‘Still of the Night’ by White Snake and ‘Dream On’ by Aerosmith are absolute must watches.
Unfortunately, Meat Loaf passed at the age of 74 yesterday and his music and film work will continue to live on.
