Mandy Moore has wasted no time in finding other mothers to bond with, following the recent birth of her son Gus.

And one of those women has been Hilary Duff. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Mandy shared a picture of the two babies lying next to each other on a blanket. The post was captioned by the following comments: “When August met Mae: a love story for the ages.” The story surrounding Mandy’s pregnancy, though, was very telling. Her pregnancy had many complications.
Mandy started to suffer from low platelets, the consequences of, which could have been damaging for the baby. As this was occurring, her baby’s heart rate began to decrease rapidly. That is when doctors intervened and informed her that she must get ready to deliver the baby immediately. In a previous interview on the Informed Pregnancy Podcast, Mandy described the difficult ordeal of the pregnancy.
She said: “It was crazy… Seven people walked in, and he’s like, ‘So this is a vacuum, and I’m going to attach this to the top of his head. And when I tell you to push, I want you to push harder than you ever have…And I was just like, ‘What?” But her maternal instincts overcame any doubts that she may have had about the safety of her baby.
And since that experience, she has been enjoying every moment that she can. She has been very open about some of the changes that her body has been going through post-pregnancy. One of those things has been her body’s reaction to regular breastfeeding. However, rather than seeing it as a burden, she has taken on that role swimmingly.
And this is why she has no hesitation of going through another pregnancy. She noted: “I’m like, ‘I can’t wait to do it again…As harrowing as the journey was, I miss it… It’s a hard feeling to describe, but I can look back now with such affection and fondness for myself and what that experience was because it brought me, Gus.” We will have to see if Mandy lives up to her words and tries for another baby.
