Before anyone truly begins to worry, Queen Elizabeth is in “good spirits” and doing just fine. But with that said, there’s a new report that says Her Majesty was hospitalized for “preliminary investigations.” Here’s what you need to know.
According to reports, the Queen spent a night in the hospital this week for “preliminary investigations,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman confirmed.
Here’s The Reason Why Queen Elizabeth Was Hospitalized
“Following medical advice to rest for a few days, The Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations,” the palace said in a statement. “[She] remains in good spirits.”
With that said, the queen was back at her desk at Windsor Castle by Thursday afternoon and undertaking light duties.
She had been due to attend a church service in the city of Armagh on Thursday marking the centenary of partition and Northern Ireland’s foundation but “reluctantly” accepted medical guidance to cancel the trip, the palace previously said.
Despite the recent turn of events, Her Majesty is still expected to attend the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland, later this month.
This comes after Queen Elizabeth turned down an “Oldie of the Year” award. She said that she felt too young at heart to accept such an award.
“Her Majesty believes you are as old as you feel, as such The Queen does not believe she meets the relevant criteria to be able to accept, and hopes you will find a more worthy recipient,” read a letter from her assistant private secretary, Tom Laing-Baker, to the magazine.
