Olivia Newton-John, a singer and actress who achieved international acclaim, has passed away.

John Easterling, Olivia’s husband, claims that she passed away peacefully on Monday morning at her ranch in Southern California, surrounded by her loved ones. Although the cause of death was not specified, a source close to Olivia told TMZ that she had lost her fight with metastatic breast cancer after fighting the disease for more than 30 years.

When she starred in “Grease” with John Travolta, she received a major break. Numerous songs from the film, including “You’re the One That I Want,” “Summer Nights,” and “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” were also classics thanks to her performance as Sandy. Now, her longtime friend and co-star John Travolta has released a statement.

John took to social media to share a beautiful photo of Olivia with the following caption,

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever!
    Your Danny, your John!”

John and Olivia were very close and oozed chemistry that translated on and off the screen. Seeing them together is something that we will always remember.

Rest in peace, Olivia. She was 73.
