It looks like this is going to be the day that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)’s world will come crashing down around her, and ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers can’t help but wonder how?
It’s pretty obvious her and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)’s wedding day is going to end in disaster after the heavy telegraphing on everything being so perfect and everyone getting alone.
But maybe not?
While Michael Coronthos (Chad Duell) will apparently learn Nina sold Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) out to the FCC for insider trading, there is a chance he won’t act on the information.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Balancing the scales
Michael has moved on from his hate filled vendetta against Nina for his father and Willow Tate (Katelynn MacMullen)’s sake, but will he be able to do so again?
It’s a possibility since Carly didn’t go to jail despite breaking the law and they’re working to get Drew out, but it’s still a betrayal.
‘General Hospital’ have been saying for a while now that this is one secret that should stay buried because everyone is happy! Willow’s reconnecting with her real mother, the family is coming back together, and Sonny has a spring in his step he hasn’t had in, well, a very long time.
But the deciding factor for Michael may be after all the damage he tried to do to Sonny by sending him to prison, he may look on this as his way of righting those scales.
To do that, he’ll take the knowledge and swallow it, but he may blackmail Nina to a degree to make sure she knows he knows and what he did.
It makes sense and is the type of person Michael is. And if he does come forward, his attempt to set Sonny up could also come to light and far more harm will be done. This would be a win-win for everyone.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: He shouldn’t be able to find out
Now that we’ve got that over with, time to rip into the lazy writing.
There is no way on Earth that someone would know Nina turned them in. None. Nadda. Zippo. Zilch.
Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) is too smart for that and he wouldn’t tell anyone he turned them in for Nina. There’s also no paper trail, and there’s only phone records which is normal between a lawyer and their client.
At best, Michael could learn Martin turned them in and he could play detective on who Martin’s clients are. But it looks like we’re not going to get that as a magic pencil will be waved and the solution will present itself.
Of course, given how easily this show falls into lazy writing habits, they’ll have someone else do all of that footwork off screen without updating Michael, which makes no sense, and then inform him when they know for sure.
Or it’ll be someone from the Metro Court that overheard Nina at some point. Maybe a Carly loyalist that got sucked into her cult with everyone else. But then why didn’t they come forward sooner, even if they’re not a Carly loyalist?
This just feels like a rushed ending to set up the Sword of Damocles over Nina’s head to force her to break down and admit what she did and the fanbase deserves better.
