‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers tease Ava Jerome (Maura West) does not have too many people in her corner these days. She tricked her former BFF, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), into signing divorce papers, as it appeared she was after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ava And Sonny Battling For Custody Of Avery
Ava has alienated Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), who was like a daughter to her. She lacks people who could testify on her behalf at her courtroom showdown with Sonny.
Ava and Sonny are in battle and about to be embroiled in a fight for custody of their daughter, Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).
But what Ava lacks in allies, she more than makes up for in duplicity. She’s as cunning as a fox, and it seems as though John “Jagger” Cates has taken a liking to Ava.
Ava may be devilish, but she’s also a strikingly beautiful woman who could have John wrapped around her finger.
When Sonny and Ava were in her hotel room arguing about Avery, Ava made it a point to tell John, who happened to be standing in the hallway just outside her door, that Sonny was harassing her. She inferred that Sonny was out of control.
Ava took that opportunity to tell Agent Cates that she feared Sonny. She even described him as “erratic and dangerous.” John said the best way to protect herself and Avery was to build a case against Sonny. She told him she’d think about it.
Ava remarked that it was nice to see John being so chivalrous. At that moment, John and Ava had loads of chemistry. But then again, Maura West would have chemistry with a cucumber.
John and Ava share a mutual disdain for Sonny. The martini-drinking minx tried to make herself the only person Sonny could trust, but it backfired, and now they are enemies again.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: John Could Help Ava Win Custody
Agent Cates is supposedly in town to “protect” Sonny. The mob boss found himself in the line of fire a few times, and John was trying to figure out who was responsible.
It’s a definite conflict of interest, though, as John hates Sonny because of what he did to Karen Wexler (Cari Shayne) and John’s perception that Sonny took advantage of his brother, Stone Cates (Michael Sutton).
It looks like the Pikeman case is finally over, and now John can focus all his efforts on taking down Sonny. This takedown could mutually benefit John and Ava.
To ensure he’s on her side, Ava could sleep with John. She could also arrange for John to be there when Sonny has a public meltdown. In exchange, Ava could give John information about Sonny’s organization.
That’s where John could take the stand and tell the court what he witnessed. He could help Ava win custody of Avery by arresting the kingpin, which would allow her to stay with her mother.
Ava and John could make a formidable team. She already has the upper hand, but Sonny doesn’t know it yet.
She coerced Sonny’s pharmacist to give him total placebos. With Sonny off his medicine, anything is bound to happen. And if everything goes according to plan, Ava could win sole custody of Avery.
