General Hospital spoilers confirm that in the September 17th episode of GH, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) went to talk to Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and sadly discovered that she had passed away.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Martin Discovered A Letter From Monica’s Sister
The late actress passed away on January 12th this year, and the soap has big plans to honor Charleson and Monica.
If GH does anything right, it’s their moving and heartfelt tributes to its legendary veteran actors and major characters when they die. We expect that Monica’s memorial service will be a touching and poignant celebration of her life.
The week of September 22nd, Monica’s funeral will take place. In addition to heartfelt eulogies, we also anticipate plenty of memorable, iconic flashbacks.
Erika Slezak, who’s best known for her role as Viki Lord on the now-defunct soap, One Life to Live, arrives in Port Charles.
However, Slezak isn’t expected to debut on GH until October. There has been much speculation that Slezak will play Monica’s sister.
Monica was adopted by Gail Baldwin (Susan Brown), and not much was ever established about Monica’s biological family.
We believe Monica’s sister is responsible for the letter Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) found at Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) residence.

Martin tried to ask Monica about the mysterious letter, but he ended up speaking with Yuri (Cyrus Hobbi), who couldn’t offer him any clarification.
It’s highly possible that this long-lost sister of Monica’s will fight Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) for the Quartermaine mansion and perhaps fortune. Our money is on Martin, representing Slezak’s character against Tracy.
It may be all-out legal war between Monica’s sister and Tracy that could affect several characters for months to come.
It was also confirmed that Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) would return for Monica’s funeral. Plus, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) have not been seen in a long time. However, they should be present for the memorial service.
Their son, Leo Quartermaine (Easton Rocket Sweda), should also attend. Interestingly, it’s rumored that despite Monica’s dislike for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), she’ll speak at her funeral. Go figure.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Battle For The Quartermaine Family Estate
We have to wonder if Alan’s adopted daughter, Skye Chandler Quartermaine (Robin Christopher), makes a surprise appearance.
Knowing Skye, she may also return to claim her piece of the Quartermaine pie. Robin Scorpio Drake (Kimberly McCollough) may return.
Monica’s husband, Dr. Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), provided her late boyfriend, Stone Cates (Michael Sutton), with excellent medical care when Stone found out he was HIV positive. It’s something Robin will never forget.
Tracy’s son, Dillon Quartermaine (Robert Palmer Watkins), could return to support his mom and the rest of the family.
There was also some speculation that Drew may not allow Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinate) to attend Monica’s funeral.
Drew had issued restraining orders for Scout’s entire family. This includes her teenage brother, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzn), and her honorary brother, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and her daughters are also not allowed to come near Scout. Spoilers suggest that Danny will soon plead with Drew to let Scout attend the funeral and say goodbye to her grandmother.
Monica’s death will rock the Quartermaine family, and an interloper (as Tracy would say) interferes in their plans for the estate.
Out of everyone, it stands to reason that Erika Slezak’s arrival in Port Charles will affect Tracy the most, especially since it will likely result in a battle for the mansion Alan gave to Monica decades ago.
