Recently, Kimberly McCollough, AKA Robin Scorpio from ‘General Hospital’ went to instagram to discuss her bizarre battle with a medical condition that almost drove her batty. Apparently she was having severe vertigo and felt like she was dying, poor girl! The condition she had was paroxysmal positional vertigo and she said the following on an Instagram post where she also posted a picture from a pamphlet discussing the condition.

“FYI, if you suddenly feel like you’re on the tilt-a-whirl and can’t get off, you aren’t dying!” says McCollough, “You just have tiny rocks in your ear that have migrated to the wrong place,”

    Thank you, Dr. Scorpio!

She goes onto say, “and can be maneuvered back into their original resting place by someone holding your head at a 45-degree angle and then rolling your body over to the same side.

What was going on with Kimberly McCollugh’s health?

“I’m fine, you guys,” she continues. ““I’m totally cured. Just wanted to share my crazy story. OK, bye.” good to know! Honestly, this is something straight out of General Hospital itself, and would make total sense if Robin Scorpio ever decided to resurface again.

Right now the actress is not on the show as a main player and just has a recurring role but if she ever did decide to return as Dr. Robin Scorpio it would make sense if she end up in a situation having to battle this condition, it sounds like something out of a soap anyway but as it turns out it is completely real. That’s a little freaky if you think about it.

But hey, at least it’s curable and sounds like in certain situations it could be more annoying than actually scary. In the pamphlet the method of treatment that is described is basically readjusting one’s head and body, what is called a “mobilization treatment” and should only be attempted by a licensed doctor or therapist.

There are also at-home exercises that can be done to help the condition which should, again, only be prescribed by a licensed doctor or therapist. Apparently, drugs are not helpful for this condition. Yike!!! For those of you unfamiliar with McCoullough, she originated the role of Robin Scorpio beginning in 1985, so the die-hard GH fans have basically grown up with her on-screen. We’re glad to hear that she’s feeling better now, stay tuned!!!
