Maurice Benard’s State of Mind has a treat in store for fans! The actor has been really upping his game with the YT show. And this time, he’s got a GH flashback that’s sure to bring back a lot of sad memories for fans. But they’ll also likely love getting to see someone again after so many years off the show. What’s ahead? Let’s see.
Maurice Benard’s State of Mind takes us back
The ‘90s were part of a huge time for soap operas. We remember being kids and seeing all these shows advertised. It seemed like there were so many options, although our family chose the ABC shows. It took a while, but we’ve joined those ranks with GH. However, we do have some brief memories of seeing part of the AIDS story that is considered one of the best in GH history. It’s definitely recognized as one of the most important/daring stories told.
A while back Maurice Benard’s State of Mind welcomed Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio-Drake). They spoke a little bit about that storyline and the impact it had. Well, now Maurice landed Michael Sutton, who played Stone Cates. The actor revealed this in a new Instagram post.
Maurice Benard’s State of Mind takes you behind the scenes
In a post on Benard’s account, he showed off the space he uses for filming Maurice Benard’s State of Mind and had a little fun with fans. He started by talking about how he’s ready to do an episode and one never knows who’s going to show up. Then he pretended to be surprised to see Michael coming up behind him.
In the text, the actor wrote, “This Sunday on State of Mind I wanted to pay homage to early General Hospital-when I was first hired as Sonny, and had my third manic episode. A lot is discussed. Like, Old Hollywood and of course, one of my all time favorites – the AIDS storyline. And you know I couldn’t have Kimberly McCullough (Robin)and not bring on Michael Sutton (Stone).”
We totally agree, it’s fitting to have both on the show, and both host and guest looked happy and excited to chat. This should definitely be a fun episode.

In more text, the actor revealed this is going to be a two-parter of sorts. This Sunday will feature Sutton, and next week, he’ll talk to two people he says changed his life. Wendy Riche and Shelley Curtis will be there to chat. Both are former producers for GH and we can’t wait to hear what throwbacks will come up in that conversation.
