‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers were in for a treat to close the week out as Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was revealed to be running Pikeman since John Brennan (Charles Mesure) was incarcerated.
We think it’s a fun twist, but we have a feeling we’ll need a flow chart to keep track of everything with the new writers as there are a few head scratching moments that are easy to miss.
In this case, on Friday, March 29’s episode, Valentin arranged for Brennan to be taken by a guard to a remote location where they met.
And here’s where things get dicey.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Taking out Sonny
After sharing updates on what Valentin’s been planning since taking over, he surprised Brennan by saying he intends to let Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) take himself out.
After three botched attempts to remove Sonny through assassination and Pikeman hiring Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and promoting him to their elite ranks, Valentin will mess with Sonny’s meds.
To be clear, Valentin hasn’t done it yet as he said he recently talked to Sonny pharmacist to ensure he’s going to change the dosage to mix a placebo into it, cutting back the actual medicine and diluting it.
So this means Sonny is still one of the few in Port Charles thinking clearer than most others after being betrayed by everyone.
But Valentin wasn’t done there.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Taking over
After Brennan hinted at using Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) against Valentin if he steps out of line, Valentin had the driver later pull over and take Brennan into the woods to eliminate him.
This wasn’t shown so ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers have a feeling we’ll see Brennan again unless he managed to get away.
This puts Valentin firmly in control of Pikeman, and after working with them for months to remove Sonny, he’s the one calling the shots.
This is a cool twist and we’re looking forward to where it takes us, but we’re wondering about Valentin’s mentality in doing so.
We think Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) nearly killing him broke something in him and now Valentin wants to rid the world of all crime lords.
In his thinking, he may be removing any Victor Cassadines before they can harm more, but in so doing he’s making himself into another Victor seeking to cure the world of its human sins.
This is going to be fun to see how it all works out, and this could be the beginning of the end for Valentin unless Anna or Charlotte Cassadine (Ava Kolker) can reach him.
What do you think about Valentin’ turn? It makes sense after months of acting peculiar. Let us know what you think in the comments below and check back with ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
