‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers assert that some things are right about Jason Morgan‘s (Steve Burton) “back-from-the-dead” storyline, but there are also some things that are very wrong with it.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason and Carly’s Reunion Was Bittersweet
We must say that the show has done a beautiful job of honoring the relationship between Jason and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
The two share an unbreakable bond. It makes sense that the minute Jason returned, he was compelled to see Carly.
The scenes between Jason and Carly when he revealed himself to be alive were some of the year’s best scenes. It was an epic reunion, full of tender honesty and heart-rendering moments.
The reunion was everything a diehard fan could have asked for, including when Carly shared the news that Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) died.
It was evident by the look on Jason’s face that it caused him pain because he wasn’t there for Carly when she lost her mother.
When John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) showed up at Carly’s and told her that Jason took a shot at Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard),
Another intriguing aspect of the story is that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) help hide Jason in the Quartermaine boathouse, and Willow provides him with medical care.
Willow was great, as she immediately helped without asking any questions. It was also in her character to worry about Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) getting into trouble for Willow snagging antibiotics from the hospital to help Jason.
Michael, true to form, would do anything to help Jason. Jason’s son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), was pitching in to help him keep his secret, which was a nice touch.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Some Characters Believe Jason Is Guilty, But Why?
Danny believes in his father. So why doesn’t Jason’s other son, Jake Webber (Hudson West), feel the same?
Danny wants to work with Jake as a team and help people realize that Jason didn’t shoot Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). However, Jake feels that Jason may be guilty.
In the meantime, what is wrong with Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco)? She was supposedly Jason’s soulmate, and she thinks Jason shot Dante. Jason and Sam were once a very popular pair, and their fans are reeling from this particular development.
Granted, Sam is in love with Dante now, but she would have been the first person, aside from Carly, to defend Jason.
Sam and Carly had also become close friends over the past few years. It was not in her character to be so cold and tell Carly that if she wanted to help, she should “call the police” if she saw Jason.
We are surprised that the two now mature, rational women didn’t have one of their epic catfights right then and there at the hospital.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Jason is a Crack Shot and Does Not Miss
Sonny is another oddity in this scenario. He should know that Jason didn’t shoot Dante, nor would Jason take a shot at Sonny. Plus, Sonny and Sam should realize that if Jason wants someone dead, he can kill them and get it right the first time.
We are glad the show finally acknowledged that Jason and “Jagger” have known each other since high school.
Jason’s reaction to hearing that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) was killed was also poignant and moving.
If the show corrected the inconsistencies, it would greatly help the storyline. The writers have been slightly erratic with certain characters’ reactions to Jason’s predicament.
They should correct this as soon as possible so that the story makes more sense. Other than that, the writers are doing a fine job putting the puzzle pieces together.
