General Hospital spoilers have confirmed that Ryan Paevy, who played Nathan West on the soap, will return.
While his role has yet to be confirmed, fans are already speculating that Nathan will come back from the dead like his sister, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thieabud).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Paevy Is Keeping Mum About His Character
Paevy is keeping mum and has yet to reveal if he’ll reprise the part. However, sources close to GH explained that the Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) family tree may be revived.
Paevy’s character, Nathan, arrived in Port Charles in 2013 and charmed his way into Maxie Jones’s (Kirsten Storms) heart.
In 2018, the actor opted to exit from the soap, and Nathan was tragically shot and killed while in the line of duty by his own father.
He left behind a very pregnant and heartbroken Maxie. Shortly after Nathan’s death, she welcomed their son, James West (Gary James Fuller), into the world.
Maxie has since reunited with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Nathan was also Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) partner at the PCPD.
Paevy may not be playing West, but it would surely shake up Port Charles if the man Maxie was hopelessly in love with would suddenly return.
The timing of Paevy’s return coincides with Britt and Liesl’s return to the show. Head writers hinted,
“The Faison/Obrecht clan is just getting started.”
Due to the timing of his return, we surmise he’ll reprise the role of Nathan West. It can’t be a coincidence that Britt and Liesl are back, and Paevy has started filming at GH.
Recently, Paevy dropped several clues that he would be returning to GH. Now, the rumors have been confirmed, and fans are excited over the storyline possibilities.
Paevy admitted that his new storyline will be a very “meaty” one. According to Deadline, Paevy engaged in several chats with GH executive producer Frank Valentini.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: “The Reintroduction Of Britt Is Part Of A Larger Story”
The actor shared,
“We talked a bit, and he asked if I would consider returning for a while, talking story, floated different story ideas.”
Paevy decided, “If we’re going to do this, we should really do it and surprise the fans with a meaty storyline!”
The return is surprising, given that Paevy claimed that he was basically done with acting. Now that Nathan’s family is potentially being resurrected, and Britt is definitely not dead, we have high hopes for Nathan’s return.
The head writers also shared that the reintroduction of Britt is “part of a larger story.” They declared, “The excitement won’t end with Britt.”
When the actor left his role as Nathan, he opened up to Soap Opera Digest about his exit,
“My decision to leave had nothing to do with being dissatisfied with the show, or anything like that at all. I was totally green when GH hired me.”
He continued,
“Letting Nathan go was not a decision reached easily by any of us. I found it more difficult at the end than I would have thought.”
In the interview, he also expressed his willingness to one day return to GH,
“I will come back at any time because of what they did for my life.”
