‘General Hospital (GH)’ spoilers have people talking about him occasionally, especially Laura Webber (Genie Francis). Nikolas is a huge source of drama between the two, and from what we’ve seen, it seems there’s good reason for that. With online talk indicating a possible return for the character (whether through a Tyler Christopher return to Daytime, or a recast), we thought it might be fun to compare the two and see who we think wins.

To prepare, we watched a number of clips of Nikolas Cassadine, some of which centered around the issues between him and Laura. There was also some fellow Cassadine drama in a scene, after Nikolas learns some painful truths.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Nikolas Cassadine vs. Stefan DiMera: Who did Tyler Christopher play best?
As we watched, we couldn’t help but notice how similar the two characters are. Both are dealing with family issues and a need to belong. They’re angry. They feel overlooked, and are both part of controversial families in their respective towns. However, they both have good sides to them, like when Nikolas was defending Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) as a little one. He also, from what we’ve gathered from another scene was a donor for an ailing baby Lulu. Meanwhile, Stefan has recently done everything in his power to help Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and is looking to start a new DiMera by hiring Abe Carver (James Reynolds), much to Kristen DiMera’s (Stacy Haiduk) annoyance.

‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Battle time
We were lucky enough to find one of Tyler’s very first clips on GH, a slight confrontation with Lucky Spencer () while baby Lulu is recovering. One thing we noticed right off was Tyler’s fair for sarcasm in these early clips, as well as the emotional intensity he brought to the part when learning some uncomfortable truths from Laura. He also seemed a bit nicer in dealing with an employee that messed up by allowing other people to take over at Cassadine Island.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: The verdict
As much as we love his version of Stefan DiMera, we’re going to have to give a slight edge to Nikolas for several of above reasons listed. He showed power without taking it to some of the levels that Stefan can. We also thought the fact Nikolas was actually able to interact and confront the family most responsible for his issues added an extra level to things. He also seemed less likely to sleep with a woman who’s not in her right mind, as Stefan slept with Abigail Deveraux’s (Kate Mansi) alter ego. Here’s hoping that this character returns.
