‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that GH fans were fuming yesterday thinking that executive producer Frank Valentini hyped up a significant return only to have Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) return to the show as a ghost or in a dream as he did back in 2018 when he haunted Ava Jerome (Maura West).
Turns out we were pleasantly duped. Bryan Craig is returning for one episode, but Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) will be returning on a long-term basis.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Last Time Lucky Was In Port Charles Was in 2015
Jonathan Jackson originated the role of Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and Laura Collins (Genire Francis), son in 1993. He played Lucky on and off until 2011.
However, he returned briefly in 2015 as part of Luke’s exit storyline. Jackson posted a message on his Instagram earlier today,
“Hey, everyone, I just wanted you to know that I will be returning to General Hospital this summer as Lucky Spencer. I’m super excited, and I can’t wait to dig in and see what’s going on in Port Charles,”
He exclaimed.
Jackson won five Daytime Emmys for his performance as Lucky Spencer. He was nominated in the Outstanding Younger Actor category a whopping nine times and scored his first win in 1995.
Prior to the announcement, GH fans also thought that the show might have broken up Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) to repair Liz and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), but it looks like that may not be the case.
We think Lucky and Liz may get another chance at love. Seeing Lucky interact with his teenage son, Aiden Webber (Tristian Riggs), will also be exciting.
Aiden would love to see his Dad come back to Port Charles. Seeing family scenes between Lucky, Liz, and Aiden would be fun. Maybe Aiden could even teach Lucky how to bake.
Lucky’s upcoming scenes with his mother, Laura, are bound to be particularly special.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Will Lulu Return?
Now that Lucky is set to return to his role as Laura’s son, could Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) come back and reclaim her relationship with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)? Or perhaps a soapy triangle with Dante, Lulu, and Sam McCall?
Since Lucky gets to be there for Aiden now, it wouldn’t hurt for Lulu to wake up from her coma and help Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlet Fernandez) with her issues.
Lulu has always been an excellent mother and could guide her troubled teenage daughter through her dangerous obsession with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
Not to mention her grandfather, Victor Cassadine‘s (Charles Shaughnessy) brainwashing, which is a storyline that GH writers basically dropped now that Charlotte is back in boarding school.
Rocco Falconeri (Finn Francis Carr) could also use some motherly guidance. There has been a void on the show ever since Lucky and Lulu left.
The Spencers are a core family in Port Charles with deeply planted roots. Any chance to get Lucky, Lulu, and Laura all in each other’s orbit again would be striking gold.
The return of a familiar male character was teased on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys. Frank Valentini was right. It’s someone the fans will go crazy over. Look for Jonathan Jackson’s return as Lucky Spencer this summer.
