‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest the time is right for Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) to return to Port Charles. Some would say way past time.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Lucky Could Have Returned Several Times
When Port Charles was reeling from the death of Luke Spencer (Tony Geary), Lucky should have been there to help his family come to terms with the fact that Luke is gone.
He should have also come to visit his sister, Lulu Falconeri (Emme Rylan), during the three years she has been in a coma. It just would have made more sense than his glaring yet unspoken absence.
Now, we have lost Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman), and the Spencer clan must pull together again to mourn the passing of one of their own.
Spoilers indicate that Bobbie’s memorial service is coming up on January 10th and 11th of the upcoming new year. Lucky’s presence would not only be welcome, it would be long overdue.
Bringing back Lucky might help make up for the show’s mistake of not having Lucky return to see his mother, Laura Collins (Genie Francis), after Luke died.
Lucky should also have come home when Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) died. Lucky’s son, Aiden Spencer (Enzo De Angelis), was coping with losing a beloved father figure.
As much as Lucky has missed, you would think he would have appeared about now. Even if he didn’t rekindle a relationship with his true love, Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), Lucky could still help Liz support her son, who recently shared with his mother that he is gay.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Why Lucky Left Town
The last time we saw Lucky, he was leaving Port Charles after the death of his wife, Siobhan McKenna (Erin Chambers). She was killed by mobster Anthony Zacchara (Bruce Weitz) after Siobhan discovered he was involved in smuggling drugs into Port Charles.
Naturally, Lucky was devastated. He found a letter Siobhan had written to him, instructing him to go to a church in Ireland. He buried Siobhan in Ireland, where she grew up. Jonathan Jackson left the show in December 2011.
Fans could probably accept Lucky being played by Greg Vaughn, who added some layers of darkness to the character. However, Vaughn is currently playing the priest, Eric Brady, on Days of Our Lives.
Of course, most fans would love to see the original Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) reprise the role.
Another great reason to bring Jackson back at this point is that Jonathan Jackson has become available. He has been swamped since leaving GH.
Five-time Daytime Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson starred as Avery Barkley, a singer-songwriter, on the TV series, “Nashville.” In real life, he is the frontman for the band Enation with his brother, Richard Lee.
His band has released several albums and has been in the Top Ten charts. Jackson has also starred in movies like “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights,” and “Riding the Bullet.”
Jackson also released a book of poetry and another book in the same vein as religious philosopher C.S. Lewis, called “The Harrowing Hell.” There doesn’t seem to be much that the multi-talented Jackson can’t do. He’s a brilliant actor whose portrayal of Lucky Spencer has been thoroughly missed.
