‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers suggest we may not have seen the last of Dex Heller (Evan Hofer). Friday’s episode left fans wondering if Dex would really leave Port Charles and the love of his life, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), behind.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Dex Wanted to Die if He Couldn’t Be with Joss
We were all a bit nervous when, after Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) told Dex he had to leave town for good, Dex took the gun and pointed it toward himself, telling Sonny that he might as well finish him off.
Dex didn’t want to leave Joss, and he told Sonny that he should just kill him. Sonny explained to Dex that if he chose to die, Dex would be the one to break Joss’s heart, not him.
So when Joss showed up, and Dex was gone, with Sonny there waiting to give her his goodbye letter, we knew Dex had left town to spare Joss the pain of mourning his death.
Sonny told Joss that Dex was still alive, but he left Port Charles, never to return. Sonny gave Joss what Dex had left her in an envelope. She opened it and saw Dex’s dog tags.
Joss was both furious and hysterical with grief. She told Sonny the same thing we were feeling at that moment. Joss said that she hated him and fell to the ground, wailing, telling him she would never forgive him for this.
Sonny already knew that and left Joss alone with her tears and rage. The scene was gut-wrenching, and Eden McCoy did a beautiful job conveying the sorrow and ache that shatters the heart into a million pieces.
Sonny told Dex that Brick (Stephen A. Smith) would set him up in a safe house and give him money. Dex would, of course, also lose his identity, assume a fake name, and simply disappear.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Can Trust Dex
Ironically, Dex may be one of the few people whom Sonny can trust. Sonny has a mole in his organization and needs someone who has his back.
Up until last week, that someone was Dex. Seeing as Sonny believes he can’t trust Dex, it leaves him with limited options. He chose the intelligent route because Sonny can always change his mind.
Many fans are concerned that Brick is the one who is up to no good, but our money is on Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). If he’s brainwashed, it’s a strong possibility that he could be the one taking shots at Sonny.
Spoilers reveal that Jason’s return will be shocking, and we’re guessing it has something to do with him being a “traitor.”
However, Brick is too eager to point the finger at Dex, which raises some red flags. It would take something dramatic to bring Dex back.
If Jason returns to aim at Sonny, it could change his perspective. Dex proved his worth a time or two, and it may take a little time and distance for Sonny to see the truth. So far, there has been no word that Evan Hofer is leaving the show. Hopefully, it stays that way.
