‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: In 2019, Cameron Was Having Some Strange Symptoms
Back in 2019, Mathison was experiencing some strange symptoms, and he couldn’t figure out why. He talked to his doctor, and he suggested Cameron have an MRI of his abdomen. The doctors discovered a tumor on his right kidney.
Cameron revealed that he had kidney cancer in September 2019 on Hallmark’s Home and Family morning talk show. He had to have surgery to remove the tumor, and the outcome was favorable.
The tumor is gone, and he was able to keep 80 percent of his kidney. Catching the cancer early on played a huge role in him getting better.
Since his cancer diagnosis, Mathison has adopted a healthy lifestyle involving healthy nutrition and physical activity. He loves outdoor sports like skiing, hiking, and swimming.
Cameron also loves yoga and deep meditation. He takes classes at the Kadampa Meditation Center in Los Angeles. Cameron has even tried the new trend of taking ice baths. He’s feeling healthier and more energetic than he ever has. He works hard at it.
Mathison has recently posted some of his daily workout regime on his Instagram account. He is faithful to his routine and credits his health to his dedication and fortitude.
Cameron believes his healthy lifestyle helped to prevent the cancer from spreading.

Mathison’s experiences have increased his desire to help others because he got help throughout his journey. He is four years cancer-free and very excited to have time with his family and friends.
As soon as Cameron posted the good news on Instagram, everyone was ecstatic, and his fans took to social media to congratulate him.

Cameron is not only blessed in health, but he also has a lot to be thankful for in his career. The actor has been on General Hospital for three years, coming up in April.
Cameron’s character, Drew Cain, is involved with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and is a card-carrying member of the infamous Quartermaine clan.
Mathison has also recently taken on other projects besides GH.
He has a fun game showing coming out on Game Show Network. He recently signed a multi-picture movie deal with Great American Family. He’s also starred in some very spirited and heartwarming Christmas movies for the holidays.
The most challenging thing Cameron has gone through this year was losing his best buddy in the whole world, his beautiful dog, Red, to cancer in December.
