Looks like things in Port Charles are going to get interesting in the coming days as Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will continue showing signs that he’s not what everyone thinks he is, and ‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers are curious to see how it’ll play out.
Whether it’s the writers’ choice or the actor allowed them to go in a different direction, Drew underwent a huge character shift since he was rescued and has done his best to be a good little lap dog for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
He’s done everything he can for Carly from throwing himself on his sword to offering his daughter’s financial future to her to bail her out of the problem she created.
And every time it’s come at the expense of his family, especially his daughter Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Weak writing or no backbone?
He’s been a horrible absentee father since he did it by his own choosing, and ‘General Hospital’ Spoilers were sorely disappointed that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) let him and Carly off the hook for him going to prison for her.
Especially Carly given their history. We expected them to find a way to work together, not for Sam to bend the knee, but now that he’s out Drew seems a little off and it’s going to be fun seeing what’s to come.
While Drew’s mentality can be chalked up to him not wanting to lose Carly or just losing his backbone around her, there could be a reason and it might not be lazy fan fiction writing.
There’s a chance it was being done to set up a huge character shift for him, and if so, there’s some fun possibilities they could explore.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers – Loose canon
While being at Pentonville, Drew learned a valuable lesson about being the nice guy and bootlicker for Carly, but while we don’t see the latter changing, the former is definitely in flux.
He’s suddenly intent on going after Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) for selling him and Carly out to the SEC, and though coming clean would’ve helped him, Ned changed his mind after seeing Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell)’s business dealings while he was “away”.
Still, Drew’s looking to take ELQ from Ned, and this should be interesting to see how far he’ll go. We haven’t forgotten how and Michael (Mostly Michael) worked behind Ned’s back to remove him from any position of authority, and Ned will remember that.
The question we have is will he get into a dangerous game of hostile takeover that’ll send him back to prison, or will he go scorched earth and burn it all down?
