‘General Hospital’ spoilers suggest that the recent scenes between Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) and Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevy) showcased their dysfunctional sibling dynamic.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Britt and Cassius Have a Natural Brother/Sister Chemistry
We love the natural brother/sister chemistry between Britt and Cassius. While the evil twin reveal wasn’t exactly a surprise, given the ridiculous number of clues the soap dropped that this man wasn’t really Nathan West (Ryan Paevy), we are impressed by Paevy’s flawless ability to portray this wickedly fun character.
Britt and Cassius clearly have a complex, unique relationship, based on deep secrets and amusing back-and-forth banter. Paevy is knocking it out of the park as Cassius, who is posing as Nathan to infiltrate the PCPD and fly under the radar in Port Charles.
We wouldn’t exactly call Cassius pure evil. He obviously has shades of grey as he’s currently protecting Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) and Britt from forces much darker than they could handle on their own.
His feelings for Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Breuning) are genuine. Cassius also seems to honestly care about his nephew, James West (Gary James Fuller), who believes that Cassius is really Nathan, his father.
However, Paevy admitted in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest that the relationships he’s developed with these people make him vulnerable and could spell trouble for Cassius, since he never had people he actually cares about in his life before.
That said, we now know that the only reason that Britt managed to survive “the Hook” was that Cassius convinced Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) that Britt would be a major asset to Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) final project.
Additionally, Cassius bartered with them to secure Britt’s life-sustaining Huntington’s medication in exchange for her work on the cold fusion project.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Cassius May Redeem Himself By Saving Britt
Paevy and Thiebaud are soap gold in their scenes together. Cassius and Britt were bonded by extreme circumstances, and their dynamic is fresh and unpredictable.
They are the definition of dysfunctional, but their connection is also captivating. We can see these two characters eventually teaming up to take down the baddies.
We ultimately think Cassius’s relationships with Lulu, Britt, Rocco, and James will change him for the better, redeeming him from the curse of his father, Cesar Faison’s twisted legacy.
Cassius, who is pretending to be one of the good guys, may ultimately become an actual good guy with subtle shades of grey when all is said and done.
Yes, Cassius is doing his dirty deeds to make obscene amounts of money and gain tons of power, but he has also advocated for Britt with Sidwell. He has a manipulative agenda peppered with some true brotherly protectiveness.
While Cassius and Britt have only known each other for about two years now, their rapport is fresh and fun. We predict that in the end, Cassius will come through for Britt.
We can picture Sidwell may plan on killing Britt her once she’s completed the project, but Cassius will step in to rescue his sister somehow.
Being “Nathan” will undoubtedly change Cassius in ways he never anticipated. There is a very real chance that Cassius puts his neck on the line for Britt in some way, as he may be the only one standing between Britt and a bullet in the head courtesy of Sidwell.
